First Ex Co meeting of Nalanda OBA for year 2026 - 2027

The first Executive Committee (ExCo) Meeting of the Nalanda College Old Boys' Association (OBA) for the 2026โ2027 term was successfully held on 23rd July 2026, with President and Principal of Nalanda College, Mr. Iran Champika Silva, presiding over the meeting. The head table also comprised Executive President Dr. Thilak Amarasinghe together with the Association's key office bearers.
The meeting was graced by distinguished Nalanda College alumnus, Mr. Deepal De Silva, who attended as the Chief Guest. Prior to his address, Vice President Mr. Janaka Periyapperuma introduced the Chief Guest by presenting a brief overview of his remarkable achievements and contributions. Mr. De Silva then delivered an inspiring speech, encouraging members to strengthen their commitment to the continued growth and advancement of Nalanda College and its Old Boys' Association.
Addressing the gathering, Principal Mr. Iran Champika Silva shared his vision for the future of the College and highlighted the importance of the continued support and collaboration of the OBA in achieving its educational and institutional goals.
In his address, Executive President Dr. Thilak Amarasinghe announced the establishment of the Nalanda College "RISE" Centre, an initiative aimed at nurturing resilient, ethical, emotionally intelligent, and socially responsible future leaders of Nalanda College. He also outlined several key projects and strategic initiatives that the Association plans to implement during the 2026โ2027 term in support of the College's long-term development.
The inaugural Executive Committee meeting for the new term witnessed the participation of many senior members of the Association, alongside a large number of Executive Committee members representing different generations of Nalandians. Their presence reflected the unity, commitment, and shared vision of the Nalanda College Old Boys' Association as it embarks on another year of dedicated service to its alma mater.
