The Equality Initiative is a non political organisation , created to advance the position of vulnerable groups within Sri Lanka Law College in order to build a strengthened and empowered legal profession.

The Editorial Board of VORTEX Volume V invites undergraduate students to participate in the Inter-University Article Writing Competition 2026 under the theme โ€œBeyond Barriers, Towards Equality.โ€

The competition aims to encourage students to share insightful perspectives on equality, inclusivity, and social justice through meaningful written expression.

The Equality Initiative of Sri Lanka Law College had the privilege of meeting with Mr. Mahela Jayawardena, former Captain of the Sri Lanka National Cricket Team and one of the nationโ€™s most celebrated sporting icons, for an exclusive interview for the VORTEX'26.

The discussion explored the themes of equality, diversity, and inclusion through the lens of sport, highlighting the role of leadership, teamwork, and equal opportunity in fostering more inclusive communities.

We extend our sincere gratitude to Mr. Jayawardena for generously sharing his valuable insights and experiences. His contribution will undoubtedly enrich VORTEX 2026, and we look forward to sharing this inspiring conversation with our readers.
