Survival Reggae Club of Sri Lanka Survival Reggae Club of Sri Lanka Initiatives
To promote reggae music and to respect the freedom of all beings to live in peace, love and unity.

History of the Survival Reggae Club

After Bob Marley and the Wailers visited Australia on their 'Survival'
world tour in 1981 two Australians travelled to Jamaica to have a
one-on-one audience with the 'King of Reggae'. When they asked him what they could do to help promote reggae back
home, Bob Marley had one suggestion,
"...start a reggae club and call it the Survival Reggae Club". They did and

the reggae scene in Melbourne became the founding place
of the now global Survival Reggae Club with branches starting to open
all over the world. The basic message of the club is to respect all beings equally; honour
your family, your community and the earth that we inhabit; be honest
and truthful, do not become intoxicated, steal or harm others. Be a
good and responsible human being fully accountable for all of our
words, thoughts and actions in the sight of all men and God the
Almighty. This message is transmitted through music, art and dance, a universal
language of peace of love of the brotherhood of all mankind.
