At the India Sri Lanka Business Forum, organised by the Ceylon Chamber in partnership with CII, Secretary (Protocol, FDI, Diaspora & Outreach) and Chief of Protocol, Government of Maharashtra, Dr Rajesh Ravindra Gawande says, “Today, Sri Lanka is undergoing major infrastructure development, including ports, bridges, roads, and railways. Maharashtra has strong infrastructure companies with global experience and financial capability to support such projects. In pharmaceuticals, Maharashtra produces around 30% of India’s output, while Sri Lanka has a strong demand for generic medicines. Beyond trade, this presents a partnership opportunity where India can serve as a reliable and cost-effective supply partner to Sri Lanka.”

The India–Sri Lanka Business Forum: Partnering in Sri Lanka’s Growth and Investment is now underway in Mumbai, India, bringing together business leaders, policymakers, and investors from both countries to explore new opportunities for trade, investment, and economic collaboration.

Organised by The Ceylon Chamber of Commerce in partnership with the Confederation of Indian Industry (CII), the Forum features senior representatives from government and industry. Chairperson of The Ceylon Chamber Krishan Balendra, Sri Lanka’s High Commissioner to India H.E. Mahishini Colonne, and Senior Economic Advisor to the President of Sri Lanka Duminda Hulangamuwa addressed the Forum today, which was followed by networking with high-profile government and industry counterparts.

The Ceylon Chamber's Vice Chairperson Bingumal Thewarathanthri, Deputy Vice Chairperson Vinod Hirdaramani, and Secretary General and CEO Shiran Fernando, along with several senior corporate leaders, are at the Forum representing Sri Lanka.
