Trump පරිපාලනය විසින් transgender minors සඳහා ලබාදෙන ඇතැම් gender-affirming healthcare සඳහා Medicaid සහ CHIP හරහා ලබාදෙන federal funding සීමා කිරීමට නව නීතියක් අවසන් කර තිබෙනවා.

සංක්‍රාන්ති සමාජභාවී පුද්ගලයන් හට නීත්‍යානුකූල ක්‍රමවේදය අනුව තම ලිංගිකත්වය/ස්ත්‍රී-පුරුෂභාවය සම්බන්ධ තොරතුරු සංශෝධනය කිරීම සඳහා නිකුත් කර ඇති චක්‍රලේඛය බලරහිත කරන ලෙස ඉල්ලා ගොනු කළ මූලික අයිතිවාසිකම් පෙත්සම ශ්‍රේෂ්ඨාධිකරණය විසින් විභාගයට නොගෙන නිෂ්ප්‍රභ කර ඇත. ඒ අනුව, දැනට ක්‍රියාත්මක වන චක්‍රලේඛය තවදුරටත් වලංගු වන අතර, ට්‍රාන්ස්ජෙන්ඩර් පුද්ගලයන්ට පවතින නීත්‍යානුකූල ක්‍රියාපටිපාටිය ඔස්සේ තම අනන්‍යතාව පිළිගැනීමේ ක්‍රියාවලිය ඉදිරියටත් පවත්වාගෙන යා හැකිය.

2002 වසරේ සිට ආරම්භ වූ සංක්‍රාන්ති ලිංගික පුද්ගලයන්ගේ අයිතිවාසිකම් සඳහා වූ අඛණ්ඩ සටනේ වැදගත් සංධිස්ථානයක් මෙලෙස සටහන් වේ. එමෙන්ම මෙම නඩු තීන්දුව මඟින් සංක්‍රාන්ති ලිංගික පුද්ගලයන් මුහුණ දෙන නීතිමය, පරිපාලනමය සහ මානව හිමිකම් සම්බන්ධ ගැටලු ජාතික මට්ටමේ අවධානයට යොමු විය යුතු බව පෙන්වා දෙන අතර, අනාගත නීතිමය හා ප්‍රතිපත්තිමය ප්‍රතිසංස්කරණ සඳහා ශක්තිමත් පදනමක් ද සකස් කරයි. එතෙක් අපගේ උත්සාහයන් තවදුරටත් අඛණ්ඩව ඉදිරියට රැගෙන යමු.

අද දින මෙම නඩුවෙහිදී සංක්‍රාන්ති සමාජභාවි පුද්ගලයන් වෙනුවෙන් පෙනීසිටි ඒ සඳහා කැපවීමෙන් කටයුතු කළ සියලුම නීතිඥ මහත්ම මහත්මීන්ටද, මානව හිමිකම් ක්ෂේත්‍රයේ සියලු ක්‍රියාකාරීන්ට සහ මේ සටනට දායක වූ සැමට වෙනස අපගේ හෘදයාංගම ස්තූතිය පිරිනමමු.

සෑම පුද්ගලයෙකුටම ගෞරවයෙන්, සමාන අයිතිවාසිකම් සමඟ ජීවත් වීමේ අයිතිය ඇත. 🌹🏳️‍⚧️

A Significant Legal Milestone for the Rights of Transgender People 🏳️‍⚧️

The Supreme Court has dismissed, without hearing, the Fundamental Rights petition that sought to invalidate the circular issued to enable transgender individuals to legally amend information relating to their sex/gender through the established legal procedure. As a result, the circular currently in force remains valid, and transgender people can continue to have their gender identity legally recognized through the existing lawful process.

This marks an important milestone in the ongoing struggle for the rights of transgender people, which has continued since 2002. The court's decision also highlights the need for greater national attention to the legal, administrative, and human rights challenges faced by transgender individuals, while laying a strong foundation for future legal and policy reforms. Until then, let us continue our efforts with determination.

Today, we extend our heartfelt gratitude to all the lawyers who appeared on behalf of transgender individuals in this case and worked with dedication, as well as to all human rights advocates and everyone who contributed to this struggle.

🌏✈️ Honored and Excited to Share!

Venasa We delighted to have participated in the Feminist Opportunities Now (FON) Asia Partners Meet 2026 in Bangkok, Thailand.

This was Organized under the Feminist Opportunities Now (FON) project and facilitated by CREA, this regional gathering brought together partners from across Asia to engage in meaningful discussions on gender justice, feminist movements, and collective efforts to address gender-based violence.

It was a valuable opportunity to connect with inspiring activists, community leaders, and organizations, share experiences from Sri Lanka and Bangladesh, learn from diverse perspectives, and strengthen regional solidarity.

We are grateful to CREA and the FON consortium for creating this space for dialogue, collaboration, and learning. I look forward to bringing back the knowledge, connections, and inspiration gained through this experience to further support the communities we serve through Venasa.

Together, we continue working towards a more inclusive, equitable, and just world for all.

මෙම මස පැවති අනුරාධපුර සිවිල් සමාජ සංවිධාන සම්මේලනයේ මහ සභා රැස්වීම සාර්ථකව පැවැත් වූ අතර, පසුගිය කාලය තුළ ඇති වූ අයහපත් දිට්වා කාලගුණික තත්ත්වයන් සහ හදිසි අවස්ථාවන්හිදී ජනතා සුභසිද්ධිය වෙනුවෙන් කැපවී සේවය කළ සිවිල් සමාජ සංවිධාන හා ස්වේච්ඡා සේවකයින් ඇගයීමේ සහතිකපත්‍රවලින් පිදුම් ලැබීය.

මෙම අවස්ථාවේදී වෙනස සංක්‍රාන්තික සමාජභාවී පුද්ගලයන්ගේ ජාලයෙහි අපගේ සහභාගීත්වය වෙනුවෙන් ලැබුණු මෙම ඇගයීම අපට මහත් ගෞරවයක් සහ දිරිගැන්වීමක් වූ අතර සමාජයේ සියලුම පුද්ගලයින්ගේ අයිතිවාසිකම්, සමානාත්මතාවය සහ යහපැවැත්ම වෙනුවෙන් අපගේ කැපවීම තවදුරටත් ශක්තිමත් කිරීමට මෙය මහඟු ශක්තියක් වනු ඇත.

මෙම ගමනේදී අප සමඟ කැපවීමෙන් කටයුතු කරන Venasa volunteer team එක සදහාද අපගේ හෘදයාංගම ස්තුතිය පුද කරමු. ඔබගේ කාලය, ශ්‍රමය සහ කැපවීම නොමැතිව මෙම සේවාවන් ඉදිරියට ගෙන යාම අපහසුය. 🙏❤️
