On 17 December, 2025, Daria was arrested and incarcerated.

Daria Egereva is a Selkup Indigenous activist and human rights defender from western Siberia who has advocated for Indigenous rights in international fora, including the United Nations and global climate negotiations in her capacity as a Co-chair of the International Indigenous Peoples Forum on Climate Change.

Daria Egereva er fra det oprindelige folk selkup og er menneskerettighedforkæmper i det vestlige Siberien. Hun har været fortaler for oprindelige folks rettigheder i internationale fora som FN og ved globale klimaforhandlinger i hendes rolle som med-forperson for the International Indigenous Peoples Forum on Climate Change.

❗️Indigenous Peoples’ rights are not extremism

On 17 December 2025, Indigenous activist Daria Egereva was arrested in Moscow on fabricated “terrorism” charges for her peaceful work with Indigenous Peoples and the United Nations. Across Russia, the FSB carried out coordinated raids and interrogations targeting at least 17 Indigenous leaders.
This is political persecution and a direct attack on Indigenous rights.

El 17 de diciembre de 2025, la activista indígena Daria Egereva fue arrestada en Moscú bajo cargos fabricados de “terrorismo” por su labor pacífica con los Pueblos Indígenas y las Naciones Unidas. En toda Rusia, el FSB llevó a cabo redadas e interrogatorios coordinados dirigidos contra al menos 17 líderes indígenas.
Esto es persecución política y un ataque directo contra los derechos de los Pueblos Indígenas.

Le 17 décembre 2025, la militante autochtone Daria Egereva a été arrêtée à Moscou sous des accusations fabriquées de « terrorisme » en raison de son travail pacifique avec les Peuples autochtones et les Nations Unies. À travers la Russie, le FSB a mené des perquisitions et interrogatoires coordonnés visant au moins 17 dirigeants autochtones.
Il s’agit d’une persécution politique et d’une attaque directe contre les droits des Peuples autochtones.

17 декабря 2025 года в Москве была арестована правозащитница из числа коренных народов Дарья Эгерева по сфабрикованным обвинениям в «терроризме» за её мирную деятельность в защиту прав Коренных Народов и сотрудничество с Организацией Объединённых Наций. По всей России ФСБ провела скоординированные обыски и допросы как минимум 17 лидеров коренных народов.
Это политически мотивированное преследование и прямая атака на права коренных народов.

Rusya genelinde FSB, en az 17 Yerli lideri hedef alan eş zamanlı baskınlar ve sorgulamalar gerçekleştirdi.
Bu durum siyasi saiklerle yürütülen bir baskı ve Yerli Halkların haklarına yönelik doğrudan bir saldırıdır.

The Plant Treaty at the Crossroads Between Biopiracy and Farmers’ Rights

For the eleventh time since its ratification, the Governing Body of the International Treaty on Plant Genetic Resources for Food and Agriculture ( ) is meeting to assess its functioning and state of implementation. At stake are issues of vital importance for the future of the Treaty and its very raison d’être, as long as potential devastating impact on peasants' rights to seeds.

The Civil Society and Indigenous Peoples’ Forum (CSIPM) https://www.csm4cfs.org brought together civil society, Indigenous Peoples, social movements, academia, and governments to reflect on the future of global food governance and the role of the Committee on World Food Security (CFS), the main intergovernmental platform addressing food security and nutrition through a multi-stakeholder approach.

Across two days of discussion, participants reaffirmed the importance of protecting democratic spaces where people’s voices can shape decisions on food systems. They highlighted the growing risks of corporate capture, fragmented UN reforms, and top-down programmes that sideline small-scale food producers and Indigenous communities, while also sharing inspiring stories of resilience and solidarity.

The Forum concluded with a united call to defend and revitalise the CFS, strengthen alliances between CSIPM, IPC, Nyéléni, and other movements, and reclaim accountability and coherence in global food governance.

For Nyéléni ECA, these messages deeply resonate. Our collective struggles for land, seeds, human rights, health, and climate justice are interconnected, reminding us that people’s power and unity remain at the heart of food sovereignty.

At the 44th FAO Regional Conference for Europe, Nyéléni Europe and Central Asia Food Sovereignty Network delivered an intervention calling for the recognition of peasants’ rights, the implementation of UNDROP and UNDRIP, and the advancement of agroecology as the real path toward food sovereignty and climate justice.

The Global Forum in Sri Lanka gave us not only space for common discussions, but also the opportunity to come together as a region. Delegates from Europe and Central Asia shared our challenges and dreams, searched for solutions, and together formulated the region’s contribution to the global declaration. This was our true regional voice — a voice that was heard at the global level.
