At the Airlink panel in Singapore, Mr. Firzan Hashim, Country Director of A-PAD Sri Lanka, highlighted how pre-established partnerships, airline support, and coordinated logistics can translate into faster and more effective disaster response.
Drawing from A-PAD Sri Lanka’s experience during Cyclone Ditwah, he emphasized the critical role of collaboration across government, the private sector, humanitarian organisations, and the aviation industry. When airlines make cargo space available for humanitarian relief, and Airlink coordinates the logistics to move that assistance where it is needed, critical supplies can reach affected communities faster.
For A-PAD Sri Lanka, effective disaster response depends on strong partnerships built before a crisis. From mobilising resources to coordinating transport and ensuring assistance reaches the last mile, every link in the response chain matters.
