Celebrating 110 Years of Scouting Excellence
Scouting began in 1907, founded by Lord Baden-Powell to build character, inspire adventure, and shape young minds. Our school Scout group, established in 1915, has proudly carried that vision forward for 110 remarkable years.
From humble beginnings, our troop has grown into a beacon of leadership, teamwork, and excellence. Our Scouts have proudly represented both school and nation at Camporees, National Jamborees, and International Jamborees — living the Scouting spirit of unity and service.
Although Scouting at Zahira College began in 1915, we were unable to celebrate our centenary in 2015. However, in 2018, we proudly marked 100 years of Scouting at Zahira with all Scouts, Cubs, and Singithi. Since then, we have continued to grow and evolve — introducing Air Scouts in 2022, Rover Scouts in 2023, and Sea Scouts in 2024.
Today, we stand stronger than ever, with:
💢965 Singithi Scouts
💢475 Cub Scouts
💢370 Scouts across Land, Air, and Sea
💢A dedicated Rover Crew of 15 members
Our legacy is not only built on numbers but also on achievements that reflect our core values, including five consecutive victories at the District Swimming Gala and three straight District Flag Awards. These are more than just trophies; they are a testament to our discipline, unity, and indomitable spirit.
Scouting is not just something we do — it’s who we are. It shapes leaders, nurtures compassion, and builds a better tomorrow. As we celebrate 110 years of service and adventure, we honour every Scout, leader, and supporter who has made this journey possible. And with pride and purpose, we look ahead — ready to inspire the next generation.
