Sri Lanka’s Contribution to EvalFest 2026 – India

As EvalFest 2026 concluded on 13 February in New Delhi, India, Sri Lankan evaluators demonstrated strong and impactful participation. The team, comprising experienced, young, and emerging evaluators, contributed through presentations and panel discussions.

Presentations included:
• Lessons from Sri Lanka: M&E Practices During Emergencies – Mr. Amil Epa
• Monitoring and Evaluation Experiences in the Dithwah Cyclone Disaster Situation – Mr. Dimuthu Daluwatte
• From Crisis to Care: Youth-Led SRH Humanitarian Response to Cyclone Dithwah – Ms. Irasha Jayasekara

Panel discussions featured:
• Mr. Amil Epa
• Mr. Dimuthu Daluwatte
• Ms. Irasha Jayasekara

Special appreciation is extended to Ms. Asinsala Wijerathne and Ms. Yadharshika Selvaraj for their valuable support.

The positive feedback from participants and organizers highlighted the quality and relevance of Sri Lanka’s contributions. The event provided an important platform for Sri Lankan evaluators, particularly youth and emerging professionals, to showcase their work and foster global collaboration.

The Sri Lanka Evaluation Association (SLEvA), in association with the Institute for Participatory Interaction in Development (IPID), the Center for Evaluation, University of Sri Jayewardenepura, and EvalYouth Sri Lanka, was pleased to host an engaging session titled “Evening with Evaluators.” 🌏

The event featured a Diagnostic Clinic led by Dr. Dorothy Lucks, a credentialed evaluator with a PhD in Sustainable Development. The session offered valuable insights into strengthening evaluation practices and addressing real-world challenges in the field.

The gathering brought together evaluators, development practitioners, and professionals for a vibrant exchange of ideas and experiences. Participants had the opportunity to interact with Dr. Lucks, share perspectives, and deepen their understanding of evaluation practice.

We sincerely thank everyone who joined us at Ramada by Wyndham Colombo and contributed to making the evening both productive and inspiring.

Invitation—Evening with Evaluators (An Interactive Diagnostic Clinic for Evaluators)

Dear all,

Join us for an engaging and reflective session with Dr. Dorothy Lucks, an internationally recognized evaluation expert. This interactive “Diagnostic Clinic” will provide an opportunity for evaluators, especially young and emerging professionals to reflect on their evaluation practice, share experiences, and learn from one another.

Participants will explore two key questions:
• What evaluation work are you most proud of, and why?
• What are the main barriers or challenges you face in your evaluation work?

Through open discussion, participants will reflect on the highs and challenges of evaluation practice, exchange insights, and explore ways to strengthen evaluation work and learning within the community.

Speaker - Dr. Dorothy Lucks
Dr. Dorothy Lucks is an international evaluation expert with over 25 years of experience in sustainable development and evaluation. She has worked with organizations such as the World Bank, Asian Development Bank, UN agencies, governments, NGOs, and the private sector. A Fellow of the Australian Evaluation Society, she has held leadership roles in global evaluation networks and is strongly committed to supporting young evaluators and strengthening evaluation capacity worldwide.
