🌏 OMLC South Asia Regional Training 2026 | Strengthening Actor-Centred Approaches to MEL
The OMLC South Asia Regional Training 2026 was successfully conducted from 22–25 September 2026 at Waters Edge Hotel, Battaramulla, Sri Lanka. Participants from across South Asia attended the training, bringing diverse experiences, perspectives, and insights from across the region.
This four-day introductory training focused on actor-centred approaches to Monitoring, Evaluation and Learning (MEL), particularly Outcome Mapping and Outcome Harvesting, and how these approaches can be combined with other MEL methods.
The training was organised through the OMLC collaboration by the Sri Lanka Evaluation Association (SLEvA), in partnership with SLEvA’s Institutional Member, the Institute for Participatory Interaction in Development (IPID).
The programme was facilitated by three highly experienced practitioners with extensive expertise across Asia and the Global South - Dr. Jeph Mathias, Mariam Smith, and Dr. Sonal Zaveri - with coordination support from Mahesh Krishnan Ramesh.
Throughout the four days, participants explored Outcome Mapping and Outcome Harvesting as complementary actor-centred approaches to understand how change actually emerges through people, organisations, relationships, interactions, and shifting behaviours within complex systems. They also explored how these approaches can be integrated with other MEL methods to support more participatory, adaptive, evidence-informed, and meaningful learning practices. 🌍
