We are delighted to extend our warmest congratulations to our fellow Royalists from the Royal College Group of 2013 who have been elected to serve on the Royal College Union Council for the 2026/27 term.

This year, no election was required for the 25–35 Years Age Category, as the required number of nominees were received from the 10 competing batches, with no excess nominations.

We sincerely thank all our batchmates for your continued support and cooperation over the past years, particularly during elections, which have enabled RCG 2013 to be represented at the Royal College Union Council every year. We look forward to receiving the same support in the years ahead.

As the Cricket Carnival comes to a close, we extend our heartfelt thanks to all our sponsors and partners whose generous support made this event possible. Your backing played a vital role in bringing the tournament to life, and we deeply appreciate the commitment shown throughout.

After 18 blistering matches, 36 explosive innings, and close to 1500 runs lighting up the Cricket Carnival, only one team remained untouched at the top.

For the fifth consecutive year, Here for Beer are crowned champions of the RCG 2013 Cricket Carnival for the Poorna Aluthge Memorial Trophy, continuing a dominant legacy that now defines the tournament.

The grand final took place on 13th June 2026 at the Chandra Silva Ground, Rajagiriya, with Here for Beer, led by Heshan Kumarasiri, winning the toss and electing to field first against Royal Knights in the 5-over-per-side showdown. Royal Knights were restricted to 32/4 at the end of their innings thanks to a disciplined bowling performance from the defending champions.

In reply, Here for Beer made light work of the chase as star batter Sanju Kalansooriya tore into the bowling attack, sending the ball all over the park in a blistering innings that sealed victory in just 2.2 overs while losing only one wicket.

Here for Beer secured the title with a commanding 7-wicket victory and etched their name into history with an incredible fifth straight championship.

They may not have lifted the trophy, but Royal Knights fought their way to the biggest stage of the tournament with heart, determination, and fearless cricket. Led by Rakitha Nanayakkara, Royal Knights powered through the RCG 2013 Cricket Carnival for the Poorna Aluthge Memorial Trophy to finish as worthy runners-up after an impressive campaign filled with grit and unforgettable moments.

From clutch performances to high-pressure battles, the Knights proved they belonged among the very best, standing tall against every challenge on their road to the final at Chandra Silva Ground, Rajagiriya.

Falling short against a dominant Here for Beer side does not take away from the incredible tournament they had. The fight, passion, and spirit shown by Royal Knights throughout the carnival earned the respect of everyone watching. A campaign to be proud of. A team built for bigger moments ahead.
