Nature-Based Digital Detox Retreat – Batch 2

🌿 New Batch Announced!
Take a break from the digital world and reconnect with nature.
We are now accepting applications for the second batch of the Nature-Based Digital Detox Retreat, a FREE five-day residential programme designed for young people experiencing digital addiction or struggling to manage their use of smartphones, social media, gaming, or other digital devices.

Who Can Join?

Young people aged 18–29 who:
• Feel they spend too much time on digital devices.
• Find it difficult to reduce their screen time.
• Want to develop healthier digital habits.
• Are willing to spend five days in a natural environment with limited access to digital devices.

What You'll Experience

During the retreat, participants will:
• Disconnect from digital devices.
• Immerse themselves in nature.
• Enjoy outdoor sports and team-building activities.
• Experience fishing, nature walks, and community engagement.
• Practise mindfulness and meditation.
• Keep a nature journal and participate in creative activities.
• Learn practical strategies to manage digital addiction and improve their digital well-being.

This unique retreat provides an opportunity to improve mental well-being, build meaningful friendships, reconnect with nature, and develop a healthier relationship with technology.

Retreat Dates : 21–25 August 2026

Yesterday, the District Secretariat – Colombo, together with the National Secretariat for Non-Governmental Organizations, hosted the Colombo District NGO Progress Review Meeting – 2026 at the Mini Auditorium, District Secretariat.

SDJF was proud to be part of this event, presented our progress, alongside over 40 other registered NGOs operating across the Colombo District.

The meeting was graced by Mr. Ginige Prasanna Janaka Kumara, District Secretary – Colombo, and Mr. Chandrarathna D. Vithanage, Director General of the National Secretariat for NGOs, along with Mrs. Kanchana Gunawardane, Additional District Secretary.

The session wrapped up with an open discussion on common challenges and district-level project needs, a great step toward stronger collaboration among NGOs serving the Colombo District.
