Coastal Clean-Up Campaign - Chemmalai Beach, Mullaitivu 🌿🌊

The Sri Lanka Red Cross Society - Mullaitivu Branch, together with community participation, carried out a coastal clean-up campaign at Chemmalai Beach.

Supporting children to continue their education with dignity and without barriers ❀️

The Sri Lanka Red Cross Society-Jaffna Branch successfully facilitated a Cycle Donation Programme for selected school students who face challenges in accessing reliable transportation to attend school.

Through the funding support of the Kanagammah Foundation – UK, a total of 23 bicycles were provided to 23 deserving students. This timely support helps ease the daily travel burden of children and ensures they can continue their education safely, consistently, and with greater ease.

πŸ“¦β€οΈ The Sri Lanka Red Cross Society, in partnership with the Chellaram Foundation, provided dry ration packs to families affected by Cyclone Ditwah πŸŒͺ️ in Matale.

The distributions were carried out at the Grama Niladhari Office of the Naula Divisional Secretariat and the Ambanganga Korale Divisional Secretariat, organized by the Sri Lanka Red Cross Society – Matale Branch.

The Sri Lanka Red Cross Society, in partnership with the China Merchants Foundation Limited, is providing educational support to 700 school children affected by Cyclone Ditwah in the Gampaha and Nuwara Eliya districts.

As part of this initiative, the Sri Lanka Red Cross Society - Gampaha Branch organized school pack distributions at Anagarika Dharmapala Maha Vidyalaya, Mellawagedara; Jeyraj Fernandopulle Maha Vidyalaya, Kimbulapitiya, Negombo; and St. Anne’s College, Kurana, Negombo.

Stronger, Prepared, and Ready to Serve β›‘οΈπŸš‘

The Sri Lanka Red Cross Society conducted a 5-day Branch Disaster Response Team (BDRT) Induction Training for the Puttalam Branch, equipping volunteers with essential skills to effectively respond to disasters and emergencies.

The training focused on strengthening disaster response knowledge, enhancing teamwork, and improving the ability of volunteers to act swiftly and efficiently during crises. Participants also gained hands-on experience in disaster preparedness, community safety, coordination, and humanitarian response.
