Majority of them are camped in Puttalam district. Following organizations have been helping these refugees in all possible ways.
1. SPEED- Society for Peace, Empowerment and Education Development
2. REMO- Returnee Muslims’ Rehabilitation Organization
3. NMRO- Northern Muslims Right Organization
This PEOPLE’S SECRETARIAT was established with an objective to merge all the above organizations in ord
er to increase the output of the service they render to these refugees. The head office of the People’s Secretariat is in Colombo with affiliated branches in Puttalam and Jaffna district. The aim of all these branches is to pay immediate attention to the problems of the resettled Muslims that are faced in the Peninsula.
