👐 International Day of Sign Languages | 23 September

භාෂාව වෙනස් වුණත්, සන්නිවේදනයට ඇති අයිතිය හැමෝටම එකයි. අපිට ඇහෙන, කතා කරන, හෝ සන්නිවේදනය කරන ආකාරය වෙනස් වුණත්, සෑම තරුණයෙකුටම තමන්ගේ අදහස් ප්‍රකාශ කරන්න, සහභාගී වෙන්න සහ තමන්ට අයිති තැනක් දැනෙන්න අවකාශයක් තිබිය යුතුයි.

Different ways of communicating, same rights. Every young person deserves to be heard, included and able to participate without barriers.

சைகை மொழி உட்பட அனைத்து தொடர்பாடல் முறைகளும் சம உரிமையையும் சம வாய்ப்புகளையும் உறுதி செய்யும் வகையில் மதிக்கப்பட வேண்டும். ஒவ்வொரு இளைஞரும் தங்களை வெளிப்படுத்தவும், பங்கேற்கவும், உள்ளடக்கப்பட்டவர்களாக உணரவும் உரிமையுடையவர்கள்.

Inclusion starts with us.

සාමය කියන්නේ යුද්ධයක් නොමැති වීම විතරක් නෙවෙයි. 🕊️

සෑම කෙනෙකුටම බියකින් තොරව ජීවත් වීමටත්, තමන්ගේ අනන්‍යතාවය සහ අදහස් නිදහසේ ප්‍රකාශ කිරීමටත්, ගෞරවයෙන් සහ සමානාත්මතාවයෙන් සලකනු ලැබීමටත් හැකි පරිසරයක් තිබීමත් සාමයේ කොටසක්.

අපි හැමෝටම ආරක්ෂිත, සමානාත්මතාවයෙන් යුතු සහ සියලු දෙනා ඇතුළත් වන අවකාශයන් නිර්මාණය කරන්න පුළුවන්.

සාමය ආරම්භ වන්නේ පිළිගැනීමෙන්.

Peace is more than the absence of war. 🕊️

Peace also means creating a world where everyone can live without fear, express their identity and opinions freely, and be treated with dignity and equality.

Together, we can create spaces that are safe, inclusive, and equal for everyone.

Peace begins with acceptance.

ஒவ்வொருவரும் பயமின்றி வாழவும், தமது அடையாளத்தையும் கருத்துக்களையும் சுதந்திரமாக வெளிப்படுத்தவும், கண்ணியத்துடனும் சமத்துவத்துடனும் நடத்தப்படவும் கூடிய சூழலை உருவாக்குவதும் சமாதானத்தின் ஒரு பகுதியாகும்.

நாம் அனைவரும் பாதுகாப்பான, சமத்துவமான மற்றும் அனைவரையும் உள்ளடக்கிய இடங்களை உருவாக்க முடியும்.

சமாதானம் ஏற்றுக்கொள்வதிலிருந்து தொடங்குகிறது.

Young people are not just the future — they are the voices, leaders, and changemakers of today.

This Pride Month, we celebrate the courage of LGBTQIA+ youth who continue to dream, lead, advocate, and create spaces where everyone can live authentically and safely. Every young person deserves the freedom to be themselves, access opportunities, and grow in a world free from discrimination and fear.

Let us stand together to amplify youth voices, promote inclusion, and build a society where diversity is celebrated and every person is treated with dignity, respect, and equality.

🌈 Youth have the power to create change.
🏳️‍🌈 Pride is about visibility, solidarity, and hope.
✨ Together, we can build a future where everyone belongs.

තරුණයන් යනු හෙට දවසේ නායකයන් පමණක් නොව, අද දවසේද වෙනසක් ඇති කරන හඬවල්, නායකයන් සහ ක්‍රියාකාරීන්ය.

මෙම Pride මාසයේදී තම අනන්‍යතාවය ආඩම්බරයෙන් වැළඳගෙන, අයිතිවාසිකම් වෙනුවෙන් හඬ නගමින්, සැමට ආරක්ෂිත සහ ඇතුළත් සමාජයක් ගොඩනැගීමට දායක වන LGBTQIA+ තරුණයන්ගේ ධෛර්යය සහ ශක්තිය අපි සමරමු.

සෑම තරුණයෙකුටම තමන් ලෙස ජීවත් වීමට, අවස්ථාවන්ට ප්‍රවේශ වීමට සහ බියෙන් හා වෙනස්කම්වලින් තොර ලෝකයක වර්ධනය වීමට අයිතියක් ඇත.

අපි එක්ව තරුණ හඬ ශක්තිමත් කරමු, සමානාත්මතාවය ප්‍රවර්ධනය කරමු, සහ ගෞරවය, ආදරය සහ මානව හිමිකම් සැමට හිමි වන සමාජයක් ගොඩනගමු.

We’re proud to share that our senior YAC member, Heshan Niluminda—who also serves as the Chairperson of the Diversity and Solidarity Trust (DAST)—had the honour of participating in a special gathering hosted by Acting High Commissioner Lisa Whanstall and the British High Commission team. 🌈

The event brought together a diverse group of individuals advocating for greater protections and rights for the LGBT+ community across 🇱🇰. Heshan’s presence at this space reflects not only his continued commitment to equality and justice, but also the values that drive our collective every day.

We are so proud to have such passionate and dedicated activists like Heshan among us. Together, we keep pushing for a more inclusive, equal, and safer Sri Lanka for all. 🏳️‍🌈💪

🌈 A big thank you to FPA Sri Lanka Youth for inviting our collective to the movie screening and panel discussion! We’re truly grateful to be part of such a meaningful event.

It’s inspiring to see organizations like yours taking steps to bridge gaps between communities through dialogue, visibility, and shared experiences.

✨ Once again, the Young Activist Collective (YAC) had the pleasure of hosting a magical Tarot Reading session by our very own young activist, Dinushi Halloluwa, at the Carnival! 🃏🔮

A heartfelt thank you to each and every one of you who stopped by to get your tarot cards read — your energy, curiosity, and support made it all the more special. 💫

We also extend our deepest gratitude to the YAC members who worked tirelessly behind the scenes to make this a successful and vibrant event. 🙌

The youth showed their power once again — and this is just the beginning. 💥
