May I take this opportunity to thank people in Co.Down, N.Ireland who donated to LC of Colombo Alexandrite via this charity tin while on their holidays. They raised a very generous £100.10 and we are so very grateful for your generosity. Newcastle Sewing group have sewn up the bags! We will make a plan to visit a local community/school in Northern Sri Lanka and offer very valuable self-care resources. Thank you once again.

We have had the privilege of facilitating the international peace poster contest. It is always a delight to see young people's Creative Spark and skill.

August - Community project

President Dr Lion Nandika Sembukuttiarachchi became aware of local Convent's need for a wheelchair for one of the residents. The Convent in Seeduwa were full of gratitude with the donation of a wheelchair. President Dr Lion Nandika was joined by his family and Lion Prash Barnes MJF MAF.

As we commence a new year in the Lions Club calendar we were pleased to contribute to Palagama Siri Parakum School's Celebratory Evening. Donation of Rs: 35,000/- was presented by President Lion Dr Nandika Sembukuttiarachchi and Lion Prash Barnes MJF/MAF participated. It was a heart warming evening with song, dance and creative words by the school children.

We would like to offer our sincere gratitude to the Sewing for Charity Newcastle group for their generous donation of laundry & toiletry bags and tops for Sri Lankan children. A much needed resource for children living in remote regions. Our member Lion Emma was happy to meet with Catherine and the other members of the group.
