🌟 | Sri Lanka’s Largest Residential Youth Leadership Camp 🌟

From 6th to 8th February 2026 at MAS Athena, Thulhiriya, the Rotary Colombo Port City together with and in global partnership with , hosted a fully residential two-and-a-half-day leadership immersion for 100+ young leaders from universities across , Rotaractors of Rotary District 3220 professionals, and .

This was not just another youth event. It was a deeply structured and transformative experience designed to equip young people with the mindset, confidence, resilience, and communication skills needed for life, leadership, and work.

✨ What made it stand out
• The programme for Rotaractors this Rotary year
• 100% international faculty who travelled to Sri Lanka for the programme
• A fully funded experience, with accommodation, meals, training, and faculty support provided free of charge

Built around four powerful pillars, , , Reset, and Connection, the camp offered immersive learning through workshops such as , Creator Mindset, Confidence Code, , , Work-Ready Presence, Conversations That Matter, and Modern Relationships.

Over two and a half days, we saw something powerful unfold:
clarity replacing confusion, confidence replacing hesitation, and purpose replacing uncertainty.

A special appreciation to and the global Coach Masters Academy faculty for their outstanding stewardship, and to Centrum Marine for helping bring seafarers and maritime youth into this journey.

This is in action, investing meaningfully in the next generation and creating platforms that truly transform lives.

✨ An Evening of Learning, Fellowship & Purpose ✨

What a wonderful joint meeting between Rotary Colombo East and Rotary Colombo Port City — a true celebration of collaboration, connection, and meaningful conversation.

The highlight of the evening was an enlightening session on Autism, delivered by Sandra Fernando, whose presentation offered powerful insights into early diagnosis, understanding developmental differences, and—most importantly—how families and communities can provide compassionate support and care.

Sandra took us beyond labels and stereotypes, helping us better understand what autism really looks like in everyday life. Her talk reminded us how critical early recognition is, how vital inclusive systems are, and how empathy can transform outcomes for children and their families.

From learning about early signs, to practical approaches in care, to rethinking how Sri Lanka supports individuals with disabilities — it was a conversation that truly opened minds and hearts.

Evenings like this reflect the very essence of Rotary: coming together in fellowship, learning from one another, and working toward a more inclusive society.

A heartfelt thank you to everyone who joined us at Cinnamon Grand for this meaningful session, and special appreciation to Sandra for sharing her knowledge with such clarity and warmth. Grateful as well to all fellow Rotarians and guests who made the evening so special.

Last evening’s joint Rotary meeting between the Rotary Colombo Port City and the Rotary Club of at the Royal Colombo was truly insightful.

We were privileged to host , of the of Sri Lanka, who led a powerful and engaging session on Fundamental Rights, Duties, and the Constitution of Sri Lanka.

The discussion sparked thoughtful questions, strong member engagement, and meaningful reflections on our rights, responsibilities, and civic consciousness — exactly the kind of dialogue Rotary should be creating.

Grateful to everyone who made the evening special — great club energy, excellent participation, and a wonderful example of inter-club collaboration.

🧠✨ Let’s Get Quizzical! ✨🧠

Our annual brought together the Rotary Club of Colombo Port City family, including our energetic Rotaractors, for an evening of learning, laughter, and friendly competition.

With six teams battling it out across multiple rounds covering sports, pop culture, and general knowledge, the night was fast-paced, engaging, and full of great camaraderie.

The quiz was expertly conducted by our Quiz Master and writers, led by Rtn. Komin from Port City, also our youngest Rotarian at just 22 years of age—a proud moment for the club.

A fantastic turnout from the membership made it a truly memorable evening, and the enthusiasm in the room reminded us why fellowship remains at the heart of Rotary.

Tonight’s first Rotary Colombo Port City meeting of the year was a powerful reminder that how you start sets the tone for everything that follows.

We were privileged to host Rohan Senewiratne (Founder/Managing Director – Atarah Capital Group) for an energising, highly practical session on “Listing a Company on the Colombo Stock Exchange.”

What made it valuable wasn’t just the theory—it was the clarity. The discussion cut through the noise and focused on what matters most: why companies list, what “readiness” really means, and how capital markets reward disciplined governance, transparency, and long-term strategy.

For any leader thinking about growth—whether you’re scaling, restructuring, or preparing for the next phase—this was a timely masterclass in how to think before you act.

Equally meaningful was a moment of recognition that captured the spirit of Rotary’s Vocational Service.

Our club was honoured to present the Vocational Service Award to Ms. Nelumnika Perera, Principal of the School for the Blind, Ratmalana—a dedicated educator with 40 years in the education field, former Vice Principal of Methodist College, and a proud lifelong mentor to generations of students.

Under her leadership, we also achieved something truly historic: establishing the world’s first Interact Club for blind students—proof that leadership is not limited by circumstance, and service has no barriers.

Grateful to everyone who joined us this evening, and to those who made the fellowship, learning, and recognition possible. Proud of what Rotary can do when we combine knowledge + purpose + action.
