Crayons and Everything In Between 🖍️🌈
Childhood is rarely just one color. At our Children’s Day themed meeting, Toastmaster Harshani Karunathilake took us on a nostalgic journey through the many shades of growing up, from happy memories to the darker and grayer shades. We were reminded that while what happened to us as children was never our responsibility, healing the toxic traits we carry forward is.
Our drawing activity brought this to life as we added our own strokes to one another’s canvases, exploring how the people and experiences around us shape who we become.
We put on our rose-tinted glasses as we tried to identify fellow Toastmasters from their baby pictures and childhood fun facts, leading to plenty of laughter, nostalgia and hilarious guesses!
With Toastmaster Mahith breaking the ice, DTM Sitha joining us as a guest speaker, and Table Topics and evaluations rounding off the meeting, childhood came alive in every corner. From erasers, bells, the alphabet and LEGO, every role helped recreate the magic of being a child.
It was a wholesome meeting filled with crayons, laughter, and reflection, reminding us that every shade, bright or dark, is part of the picture we continue to create. 🎨💛
