The Jamboree on the Air (JOTA) 2026 will be held this weekend on 17th October 2026, with more than 3,000 Scouts and Girl Guides joining from across the country.

We are proud to have 17 active stations operating this year, and the frequency plan has been shared here for your reference.

Wishing all those travelling today safe journeys and every success in making this JOTA a memorable and inspiring event for everyone involved.

International Lighthouse and Lightship Weekend 2026 - Dondra Lighthouse

RSSL ILLW 2026 concluded with great success and lasting memories.

Our team began setting up on 14th August and operated continuously from that night until the afternoon of 16th August. More than 25 RSSL members participated, making contacts with over 650 stations worldwide via CW, SSB, and digital modes.

The Down South team gave tremendous support with logistics and active participation throughout the event, we truly appreciate your effort.

Special thanks to our Event Coordinator, Chamindu, for his excellent coordination and support in making this event a success.

We sincerely thank each and everyone who came to Dondra Lighthouse to participate in and support our RSSL Lighthouse Weekend event, making it not only a success but also a truly memorable experience.

The Lighthouse in charge was very pleased with our team, and it was wonderful to see all of us together. We look forward to sharing many more events with you in the future.

We are not going to mention individual names here, as there were many members involved, and each one of you gave your fullest support. We deeply appreciate all that you have done to make this event both successful and memorable.

We also extend our heartfelt gratitude to the Harbour Master, Capt. Lakshi W. Siwrathne, and the TRCSL for their support in granting all necessary permissions. A very special thanks goes to Mr. Sunil, the Dondra Lighthouse in‑charge, for the invaluable support given to us, which greatly contributed to the success of this event.

The RSSL Lighthouse Weekend is Here!

Get ready to dial in and make some waves! The Radio Society of Sri Lanka (RSSL) annual Lighthouse Weekend is officially happening on August 15th and 16th!

Our operators are geared up, antennas are primed, and excitement is at an all-time high. We are ready to light up the bands, chase rare multipliers, and log a massive haul of DX contacts from our historic coastal beacons!

RSSL General Meeting

We had a fantastic turnout at our Radio Society of Sri Lanka (RSSL) General Meeting on Sunday, July 19th at the Otter Aquatic Club! 🇱🇰

Around 40 members joined the session both physically at the venue and online via our virtual stream. It was wonderful bringing our community together for productive discussions, updates, and shared passion for amateur radio.

Following the meeting, members enjoyed a great fellowship lunch; catching up, sharing experiences, and strengthening our bonds over good food and conversation.

A big thank you to everyone who joined us in person and online to make the event a success! Stay tuned for more updates and upcoming activities.

Two legends. One late-night classroom. One shared mission.

Tonight, Wije 4S7VJ and Senevi 4S7MD joined our Radio Amateur Examination 2026 session to teach the fundamentals of electricity, electronics, and radio communications live online.

From alternating current to radio frequencies, equations to practical radio theory, the next generation of Sri Lankan radio amateurs is learning directly from decades of real-world experience.

It’s nearly midnight. But the signals, the passion, and the learning are still going strong.
