Rural School Refurbishment Project, Sri Lanka Charitable Work - School Refurbishment Projects in Sri Lanka Hi everyone,

Kapuru here! To start with, this is not a registered charity group. Why? Funding?

With the current ongoing pandemic, I thought I could put my time and resources towards supporting rural schools in need of infrastructure and equipment in Sri Lanka’s North Central Province. There are a lot of schools that could do with a bit of a facelift, which will add a smile on to a child’s face and make them look forward to going to school plus ensuring they have a bright future ahead of the

m! How do we select the schools? It’s currently through word of mouth. I ask around from locals in rural communities or friends and colleagues of mine who know off schools that could use a helping hand. How does this work? I am starting with 1 project: Thithagonawa Maha Vidyalaya, Tiththagonawa, Off Padawiya Road, Kambithigollawa, (70 km NE of Anuradhapura), Sri Lanka. I have undertaken the refurbishment of the Library, Science Lab and 2 School Buildings. If it goes well, then we will identify another school and move on to refurbishment of that school � and so on! I will start the first school by funding out of my own pocket. But as my daughter Piyumi has been doing, we will share the cost information with interested friends, family and colleagues who would like to contribute towards the worthy cause. I will be as transparent as possible, with current photos, cost updates and refurbishment photos. For those that follow my parents journey with the Rural School Refurbishment Project, Sri Lanka work they do in Central Province, Sri Lanka - good news 🗞️ they have collaborated together with GlobalGiving and Tarana Foundation to get not for profit work on a global platform! 🏫 💰 🌎 Donations are tax deductible on the Global Giving platform which is something we’ve not before when raising funds! So we are super excited to reach more crowd funding opportunities for these projects!

Help us improve the lives of 200 underprivileged school children by addressing two fundamental aspects of their well-being:

1) access to essential Water, Sanitation, and Hygiene (WASH) facilities, and

2) the refurbishment of classrooms to enhance the educational environment. By focusing on these critical needs, we strive to create a nurturing and conducive learning environment that empowers these children for a brighter future.
