The 82nd OrphanCare Student Interview

We met a former student of the Sri Jinananda Child Development Centre, Colombo 06.
Despite the hardships he faced, he showed remarkable resilience. He has completed a Diploma in Hairdressing at the Ramani Fernando Institute and currently works as a hair stylist at Salon. He also runs an online clothing business.

His ambition is to become the owner of his own salon and to grow his online clothing business. He recently came up with the idea of starting a mobile freelance salon service, but he faced financial difficulties in purchasing the required equipment.

At that time, OrphanCare contacted student to inform him that funds from Amana Bank through the OrphanCare program had been allocated to him.

He plans to use the OC funds to purchase salon equipment- trimmers, brushes, shavers, and scissors and to invest in developing his online clothing business.

The 81st OrphanCare Student Interview

Met a former student of Mercy Lanka, Puttalam.Despite the hardships she faced, she showed remarkable resilience. She has completed the Foundation Course in Biomedical Science at ICBT Campus, Kandy, and is currently pursuing a Higher Diploma in Biomedical Science at the same campus.

During the meeting, we informed student about the Amana Bank OrphanCare funds allocated to her. We guided her to use the funds for her Higher Diploma in Biomedical Science at ICBT Campus.

Her ambition is to become a Biomedical Scientist.

The 79th OrphanCare Student Interview

On 22nd July 2026, we met a former student of Sri Jinananda Child Development Centre, Colombo 06

Student was admitted to the orphanage at the age of 10 and lived there until he was 18.

Despite facing many hardships, he showed remarkable resilience.
- Completed his education up to G.C.E. A/L
- Obtaining an NVQ Level 4 Certificate in Housekeeping from NAITA, Rathmalana
- Now works as a House Attendant at Marine Bay, Kollupitiya

His ambition is to become a Senior Manager at a reputed hotel in the future.

The 77th OrphanCare Student Interview

On 17th July 2026, we met a former student of Sri Jinananda Child Development Centre, Colombo 06.

Student was admitted to the orphanage at the age of 12 and lived there until he was 18.

Despite the hardships he faced, he showed remarkable resilience. He completed his education up to the G.C.E. O/L level. He also completed an NVQ Level 4 Certificate in Cookery at the Sri Lanka Youth Centre, Maharagama.

After that, he joined as a Trainee Cook at The Kingsbury Hotel, Colombo. He now works as a Head Cook at Jangal Kade, Matara.

His ambition is to become a Chef at a reputed hotel and to start his own hotel in the future.

To achieve this goal, he is exploring foreign employment opportunities in the culinary field. During this time, OrphanCare contacted student and informed him about the OC Fund. He used those funds to obtain his passport.

65th OC Orphanage Engagement

The OrphanCare Secretariat distributed New clothes to the CPS Girls Development Centre in Pannipitiya.

The clothes were generously donated to OrphanCare by a donor from Singapore.
