CleanSL, an initiative by Rotaract District 3220, is the future of plastic waste management, where a sustainable solution for the issue of mismanaged plastics reaching local waters would be implemented and awareness would be raised regarding the same. A project initiated by the Rotaract District 3220 Sri Lanka and Maldives with the aspirations to mitigate the effects of plastic waste to the environment by raising awareness, initializing proper waste segregation & recycling procedures, and also controlling the amount of waste that gets added to the ocean via water bodies. Overall impact of this project is creating sufficient awareness among the general public and providing a clear idea as to how plastic and polythene should be disposed in these areas. With expectations to sustain the environment and create a positive long term impact on the ecosystem, the time to do this has never been better.
