Sugatha Elders Home
Started on 31st of March 2001. Sugatha Elders’ home is located in regular residential neighborhoods and consist of a warm and cozy environment. At the moment it is having 75 elders under care. Out of them there are few having psychological disabilities also. There are no limitations on their religion and nationality, all Sinhalese , Muslims and Tamils living together. Now we are caring for mentally disordered persons also. We are registered under the social service act No.02 of 2002.
Every service we provide its totally free of charge and currently we are not funded by any other organization or foreign body. In 80% Sugatha Elders Home runs on the support of the public who always seeking on care of elderly. We are having 7 staff members to assist all the activities and receive some food donations from the community, if not our staff prepare meals for our elders.
The driving force behind the Sugatha Elders Home is Mr.Cyril Rajapaksha who started this at his own property.
