As part of the island-wide The Red Thread โ25 initiative, the Rotaract Club of Batticaloa successfully conducted a Thalassaemia Awareness Sticker Campaign across the Batticaloa Town Area on 31st May 2026, to educate the public on the importance of Thalassaemia prevention, early screening, and informed decision-making.
Through the strategic placement and distribution of awareness stickers at key locations, the campaign sought to spread vital messages regarding Thalassaemia and encourage greater public engagement in the fight against hereditary blood disorders. By bringing awareness directly to the community, the initiative helped spark conversations and promote a better understanding of the importance of prevention.
This campaign was carried out under the nationwide The Red Thread โ25 initiative in collaboration with the Non-Communicable Diseases (NCD) Unit, Ministry of Health, reaffirming our collective commitment to creating healthier and more informed communities.
We extend our heartfelt appreciation to the Regional Director of Health Services, Batticaloa, for their invaluable support and cooperation in facilitating this awareness campaign. Their unwavering commitment to promoting community health and disease prevention greatly contributed to the successful implementation of this initiative and the advancement of Thalassaemia awareness across the district.
Together, we continue to spread knowledge, inspire action, and weave a stronger future free from Thalassaemia. โค๏ธ๐งต
