A Nation United in Celebration: New Year 2026

Over the past weeks, the spirit of the Sinhala and Tamil New Year echoed through every Sri Lanka Unites Reconciliation Center across the island.

From traditional games to shared meals, our centers transformed into vibrant hubs of unity. While each region brought its own local flavor, the heart was the same: celebrating our shared heritage as one community. Our goal was to move beyond tradition to build lasting bridges of friendship and respect.

From the shores of Batticaloa to an international stage in Germany 🇱🇰

In September 2025, Ms. Rubeshana Sivalingam proudly represented Sri Lanka at an international conference themed “Democracy and the Climate Crisis.”

A passionate and dedicated student of the Sri Lanka Unites Batticaloa Regional Centre, Rubeshana has continuously engaged with our center through leadership, learning, and meaningful community involvement. Seeing her step onto a global platform was truly a proud and inspiring moment for all of us.

The conference brought together young voices from 6 different countries, creating a powerful space for dialogue, cultural exchange, and collective action towards a more democratic and sustainable future. 🌍

Her participation reflects the strength, potential, and global impact of the youth from our communities. This was not just a conference, but a transformative journey filled with learning, connections, and unforgettable experiences.

We are incredibly proud of Rubeshana for representing both Sri Lanka and Batticaloa with confidence, passion, and purpose. The future looks brighter when young leaders rise like this.
