The Batticaloa Municipal Council is relocating the Public Library from its old premises to a newly constructed building in the Pattalipuram area. At the request of the Municipal Council, the District Scouts joined the relocation efforts. This operation, which has been ongoing for the past two days, is being conducted under the supervision of District Commissioner Mr. A. Nishanthan and Assistant District Commissioner (Growth) Mr. M. Chandrasusarman

Paddiruppu Zonal Scouts Convene for Intensive Training Workshop

​In a significant move to bolster the scouting movement within the zone, a comprehensive one-day training workshop for scouts of the Paddiruppu Education Zone was successfully staged today at the BT/ PD/ Kaluthawalai Maha Vidyalaya auditorium.

​The initiative was brought to fruition under the visionary guidance of Mr. S. Sritharan, Zonal Director of Education for Paddiruppu, and Mr. A. Nishanthan, the District Commissioner of the Sri Lanka Scout Association, Batticaloa District. The proceedings were conducted under the chairmanship of Mr. N. Pirathiepan, Assistant District Commissioner for the Paddiruppu Zone.

​The workshop saw a robust turnout of 70 scouts, all eager to refine their skills and leadership capabilities. The training modules were delivered through a collaborative effort by Mr. A. S. Diluxon, Assistant District Commissioner (Programme), and Mr. M. Chandrasusarman, Assistant District Commissioner (Growth). The sessions focused on practical scouting techniques, character development, and the core values of the global scouting fraternity.

​Adding administrative weight to the event were the Scout Coordinators of the Paddiruppu Zonal Education Office, Mr. Jeyaratnam, Mr. Surendran, and Mrs. Uthayakala. Their presence highlighted the strong synergy between the educational sector and the scout association in fostering youth development.

​Also in attendance was Mr. P. Hemanjanan, District Scout Leader of the Sri Lanka Scout Association, who provided further mentorship to the young participants.

​The day concluded with participants expressing renewed enthusiasm for their scouting journey. Observers noted that such localized training programs are vital for the spiritual and physical development of students in the Batticaloa district, ensuring that the next generation is equipped with the resilience and discipline required for future leadership roles.

To ensure our Senior Scouts are ready to face their President’s Award Interviews with unwavering confidence, the Sri Lanka Scout Association - Batticaloa District is launching a series of specialized training sessions.

​Under the visionary planning of our Assistant District Commissioner (Program), Mr. Diluxon, and with the steadfast support of our District Commissioner, Mr. A. Nishanthan, these sessions are designed to sharpen skills, refine knowledge, and build the mental readiness required for the highest honor in scouting.
