للأسف، كل يوم نستقبل العديد من الطيور المصابة بسبب إطلاق النار المستمرعليها من قبل الصيادين، حتى في فصل الربيع، الموسم الذي يُفترض أن تتكاثر فيه لضمان استمرارية حياتها
اليوم استلمنا عقاب الصعابين و طائر اليسّر المطوّق و عدة طيور اخرى
Sadly, every single day we are still receiving many injured birds from nonstop shooting by hunters - even in spring, the very season when they breed to ensure their survival.
Today we received a Shorttoed Snake Eagle and a Collared Pratincole and many other birds.

هنكون مع د. ميشال صوّان، خبير الطيور ورئيس الجمعية اللبنانية للطيور المهاجرة، وهيشاركنا خبرته في رصد مسارات الهجرة والتحديات اللي بتواجه الطيور، من الصيد غير القانوني لتدمير الموائل الطبيعية.

ومن خلال شركاءنا الجمعية اللبنانية للطيور المهاجرة، هنتعرف على دورهم الرائد في حماية الطيور في لبنان، من خلال إنقاذ وإعادة تأهيل الطيور المصابة، ورصد الطيور المهاجرة، وكمان جهودهم في رفع الوعي المجتمعي وتقليل التهديدات على مسارات الهجرة.

الجمعية ليها دور مهم في توثيق الانتهاكات ضد الطيور المهاجرة، وبتشتغل بشكل مستمر مع جهات محلية ودولية لحماية واحد من أهم مسارات الهجرة في العالم.

𝗕𝗶𝗿𝗱 𝗺𝗶𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 in our region is not just a natural phenomenon!
It is a high-risk journey that determines the fate of thousands of birds each season.

In our session:
𝗕𝗶𝗿𝗱 𝗠𝗶𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗶𝗻 𝗟𝗲𝗯𝗮𝗻𝗼𝗻 𝗮𝗻𝗱 𝘁𝗵𝗲 𝗧𝗵𝗿𝗲𝗮𝘁𝘀 𝗜𝘁 𝗙𝗮𝗰𝗲𝘀

We are joined by 𝗗𝗿. 𝗠𝗶𝗰𝗵𝗲𝗹 𝗦𝗮𝘄𝗮𝗻, ornithologist and President of the 𝗟𝗲𝗯𝗮𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗠𝗶𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗕𝗶𝗿𝗱𝘀, who will share his experience in monitoring migration routes and addressing threats such as illegal hunting and habitat loss.

Through our Knowledge Partners, the 𝗟𝗲𝗯𝗮𝗻𝗲𝘀𝗲 𝗔𝘀𝘀𝗼𝗰𝗶𝗮𝘁𝗶𝗼𝗻 𝗳𝗼𝗿 𝗠𝗶𝗴𝗿𝗮𝘁𝗼𝗿𝘆 𝗕𝗶𝗿𝗱𝘀, we will explore their leading role in bird conservation in Lebanon, including rescuing and rehabilitating injured birds, monitoring migration, and raising public awareness.

The organization also plays a key role in documenting violations against migratory birds and collaborates with local and international stakeholders to protect one of the world’s critical flyways.

This session will change how you see bird migration.

Today, we released a Steppe Buzzard and a Short-toed Snake Eagle back to freedom a small victory, but a strong hope for better days ahead.

اليوم أطلقنا سراح حوام السهوب وعقاب الثعابين عائدَين إلى الحرية. انتصار صغير، لكنه أمل كبير بأيام أفضل.

قامت الجمعية اللبنانية للطيور المهاجرة، بالتعاون مع جمعية دروب بشعله وبلدية بشعله، بتنظيم يوم تدريبي لجيل المستقبل حول أهمية الطيور والحيوانات البرية، وكيفية مراقبة الطيور والوسائل المستخدمة في هذه الهواية.
أُقيمت ورشة التدريب في قاعة البلدية، ثم توجّه الجميع لإطلاق سراح طائري حوّام السهوب بعد أن أنهيا برنامج إعادة التأهيل إثر إصابتهما بطلق ناري من بنادق الصيد.
بعد ذلك، قام المشاركون برحلة تطبيقية في البرية للتمرّن على ما تم شرحه خلال المحاضرة، ومراقبة الطيور وتسجيلها.

The Lebanese Association for Migratory Birds, in collaboration with Bchaaleh Trails Association and the Municipality of Bchaaleh, organized a training day for the younger generation on the importance of birds and wildlife, as well as birdwatching techniques and the tools used for this hobby.
The workshop was held at the municipality hall, after which participants released two Steppe Buzzards that had completed their rehabilitation program following gunshot injuries caused by hunting rifles.
The group then carried out a practical field trip to apply what was explained during the session, observing and recording birds in the wild.

More and more victims of ignorance. We have received a Steppe Buzzard and a Lesser Kestrel, both shot in North Lebanon by hunters. As the massacre of birds continues, the country itself is struggling amid chaos that is affecting both humans and wildlife. Our mission to rescue these innocent souls continues.

تعلن الجمعية اللبنانية للطيور المهاجرة بالتعاون من الصندوق الدولي للرفق بالحيوان Ifaw عن استعدادها لاستقبال عدد من الطيور من دون مقابل(الزينة أو الداجنة) أو الحيوانات (باستثناء القطط والكلاب) بشكل مؤقت، وذلك لحين انتهاء الوضع السيء الذي يمر به لبنان.

يأتي هذا الدعم لمساعدة أصحاب الحيوانات الذين يواجهون صعوبة في رعايتها خلال هذه الظروف الصعبة.

The Lebanese Association for Migratory Birds in collab with the International Fund for Animal Welfare (IFAW) announces its readiness to temporarily host a number of birds for free (ornamental or domestic) or other animals (except cats and dogs) until the disturbed situation in Lebanon comes to an end.

This initiative aims to support animal owners who are facing difficulties caring for their animals during these difficult circumstances.

بحاجة للمساعدة في نقل طائر لقلق أبيض مصابة من كامد اللوز (البقاع) الى بيروت لإرساله بڤان الى طرابلس كي نستلمه من هناك. من يقدر ان يساعد فليتواصل معنا لو سمحتم.

منذ بداية هجرة الربيع، ورغم الظروف الصعبة التي يمر بها لبنان، تمكّنا من إنقاذ ٣٩ طائراً مهاجراً، من بينها اللقلق الأبيض، والعقبان، والحوّامات والبوم.
للأسف، لم يتمكن عدد قليل منها من النجاة، بينما لا يزال البعض الآخر يخضع للعلاج في مركز الجمعية.
لكن هذه المرة، لدينا أمل أكبر في إطلاق عدد أكبر من الطيور بعد تماثلها للشفاء وعودتها إلى البرية حيث تنتمي.

Since the beginning of the spring migration, and despite the difficult conditions Lebanon is going through, we managed to rescue 39 migratory birds, including White Storks, eagles, buzzards and owls.
Sadly, a few did not survive, while others are still undergoing treatment at the association’s rehabilitation center.
However, this time, we are hopeful that we will be able to release a larger number of recovered birds back into the wild, where they belong.
