UTOPIA for Social Justice

UTOPIA Association is a non-governmental, non-profit organization dedicated to abolishing all types of social discrepancies in the Lebanese society.

Through specialized projects and programs that embrace volunteerism and innovation, we strive to create empowered communities and achieve social justice for all, regardless of political or religious beliefs. Our interventions encompass developmental, humanitarian, and empowering initiatives aimed at driving meaningful change and enhancing the quality of life for all citizens. UTOPIA Association re

lies on fundraising to cover operational and program implementation expenses. We secure funding from international grant institutions, local donations from the private sector, and various fundraising activities. We continuously seek partnerships with entities that share our strategic values of justice, equality, citizenship, volunteerism, and accountability. Our pillars/ outcomes:
1. Holistic Security and Wellbeing: Enhanced community resilience and individual well-being.
2. Community Partnership and Collaboration: Strengthened community networks and collaborative efforts.
3. Human Rights, Inclusion, and Protection: Promotion of equality, human rights, and protection.
4. Environment and Climate Change: Sustainable environmental practices and climate change mitigation.

‎في إطار برنامج التنمية المستدامة من خلال الحوكمة المحلية (SDLG)، المموّل من وزارة الخارجية الهولندية، والمنفّذ من قبل VNG International، أطلقت جمعية يوتوبيا في طرابلس والشباب والشابات المشاركون/ات معها في مختبر المواطنة الفاعلة مبادرة لتحسين المشهد العام في شارع المدارس وإعادة تأهيل الإشارات المرورية فيه بهدف تعزيز السلامة المرورية في المنطقة.🎨🚸

‎ويأتي هذا التدخّل استجابةً لاحتياجات جرى تحديدها ضمن مشروع مختبر المواطنة الفاعلة، حيث يعمل الشباب على تحويل التحدّيات اليومية إلى مبادرات عملية تُسهم في تطوير المساحات العامة وتعزيز السلامة في مدينتهم.

As part of the Sustainable Development through Improved Local Governance (SDLG) Programme - Lebanon, funded by the Ministry of Foreign Affairs of the Netherlands and implemented by VNG International, UTOPIA Association in Tripoli and the youth participating in the Active Citizenship Lab, launched an initiative to beautify the Schools Street and rehabilitate its traffic signs to enhance road safety in the area. 🎨🚸

This intervention comes in response to needs identified through the Active Citizenship Lab project, where youth are working to transform everyday challenges into practical initiatives that contribute to improving public spaces and promoting safety in their city.

ضمن مشروع إنقاذ الطفولة، المُنفَّذ بالشراكة مع مؤسسة الرؤية العالمية - لبنان وبالتعاون مع مؤسسة الصفدي، يشارك ٦٠ مستفيداً/ة في تدريبات مهنية متخصصة في التسويق الرقمي، التصوير وصناعة المحتوى، الصناعات الغذائية الزراعية، ومساعد شيف للوجبات السريعة. 📲👩🏻‍🍳🎥🍔

تُسهم هذه التدريبات في تعزيز المهارات العملية والحياتية لدى المشاركين/ات وفتح آفاق جديدة نحو فرص عمل واستقلالية أكبر. 🌱

Under the Childhood Rescue Project, implemented in partnership with World Vision in Lebanon and in collaboration with Safadi Foundation, 60 participants are taking part in vocational training programs in digital marketing, photography and content creation, agro-food production, and fast-food assistant chef training.📲👩🏻‍🍳🎥🍔

These trainings are creating opportunities for participants to build practical skills, gain confidence, and move toward greater independence and future employment opportunities. 🌱

قامت جمعية يوتوبيا، بالتعاون مع بلدية طرابلس - لجنة السياحة والعلاقات العامة، بتسليم الشرطة البلدية دراجات نارية صديقة للبيئة، إضافةً إلى سترات سلامة، صفّارات، وعصي لتنظيم السير، في خطوة تهدف إلى تعزيز الجهوزية الميدانية وتحسين سرعة الاستجابة وتنظيم الحركة على الأرض.

يأتي هذا التدخّل استجابةً لاحتياجات تم تحديدها ضمن مشروع مختبر المواطنة الفاعلة، حيث يعمل الشباب على تحويل التحديات اليومية إلى حلول عملية على الأرض.

قامت جمعية يوتوبيا، بالتعاون مع بلدية طرابلس وبمؤازرة شرطة بلدية طرابلس، بتركيب مطبّات وعاكسات ضوئية في شارع المدارس في طرابلس، في خطوة لتعزيز السلامة المرورية والحد من السرعة، خصوصاً في محيط المدارس. 🚸🛑

يأتي هذا التدخّل استجابةً لاحتياجات تم تحديدها ضمن مشروع مختبر المواطنة الفاعلة، حيث يعمل الشباب على تحويل التحديات اليومية إلى حلول عملية على الأرض.💡

As part of the ongoing emergency response amid the war on Lebanon, 525 menstrual hygiene management kits were distributed to women and girls across 20 collective shelters in Tripoli, Qalamoun, Akkar, Koura, Minieh, Zgharta and Batroun. 🤍

The distribution was complemented by reproductive health consultations and the sharing of key awareness messages, ensuring access to both essential supplies and relevant information during displacement. 🌸

This activity was implemented with the technical support of UN Women Lebanon and funded by the Women's Peace & Humanitarian Fund.

في إطار الاستجابة المستمرة للأزمة في ظل الحرب على لبنان، تم توزيع ٥٢٥ حقيبة مستلزمات الدورة الشهرية على النساء والفتيات النازحات في ٢٠ مركز إيواء جماعي في طرابلس، القلمون، عكار، الكورة، المنية، زغرتا، والبترون. 🤍

وترافق هذا النشاط مع استشارات في الصحة الإنجابية ومشاركة رسائل توعوية أساسية، بما يساهم في تأمين الاحتياجات الضرورية للنساء والفتيات، إلى جانب تزويدهن بمعلومات مهمة خلال فترة النزوح. 🌸

نُفّذ هذا النشاط بدعم تقني من هيئة الأمم المتحدة للمرأة، وبتمويل من صندوق المرأة للسلام والعمل الإنساني.

Since the beginning of the war in Lebanon, UTOPIA distributed 252 menstrual hygiene kits and 46 hygiene kits to women and families in collective shelters across North Lebanon and Akkar, in partnership with Oxfam in Lebanon.

This effort aimed to ensure access to essential hygiene items and support dignity during displacement.🙏🏻

We hope for safer and more stable days ahead for everyone across Lebanon.🇱🇧

As part of the ongoing emergency response, UTOPIA gathered with the Focal Points Group, a community structure established under the project “Empowering Vulnerable Communities: A Holistic Approach to Resilience in Tripoli”.

The meeting aimed to better understand the situation of internally displaced persons (IDPs) outside collective shelters, gather updates from the ground, and explore how displacement is affecting their interaction with the local community. 🏘️

These discussions help ensure that our response remains adapted to the evolving context, rooted in real needs, and informed by community voices. 💬

At UTOPIA, we believe that meaningful humanitarian response is built through listening, coordination, and working closely with communities, with people being part of the response, not only recipients of it. 🌱
