A Smile of Hope 😊🎨. In the heart of Tripoli, a group of women came together to transform their emotions and experiences into vibrant murals filled with hope and life.
The activity began with an interactive session led by a mural artist, where the women shared their ideas and stories and collaboratively designed two murals that reflected their voices, aspirations, and experiences. They then painted the murals at King Fahd Garden in Tripoli, creating lasting symbols of resilience, peace, social cohesion, and hope for everyone who visits the park.
The participants also recorded short videos sharing the stories and meanings behind their artwork, allowing their voices to reach the wider community and inspire others through the healing power of art and peacebuilding.
At the end of the activity, hygiene kits were distributed to the participating women to support their essential needs and promote their dignity and well-being.
These murals are more than works of art—they are spaces for expression, healing, and renewed hope. A Smile of Hope will remain a lasting reminder of the strength of women and their ability to create positive change.
This initiative was implemented in partnership with Mediterranean Women’s Fund and in collaboration with the Municipality of Tripoli. We extend our sincere appreciation to both partners for their valuable support and contribution to the success of this initiative and for promoting the role of art in peacebuilding and strengthening social cohesion.
