The Chamber of Beirut and Mount Lebanon(CCIA-BML) and MIDAL Organization, the two Lebanese partners in the HorizonCraft project, organized today the first Advisory Board meeting at the Chamber headquarter.

Funded by Interreg NEXT MED Programme and led by Associazione TDM 2000 , HorizonCraft project brings together partners youth NGOs and Business Associations from Italy, Lebanon, and Egypt within the objective to strengthen youth employability through capacity-building programs, a skills-matching platform, matched internships exchange of young people between partner countries.

A welcome note by Rabih Sabra Director general CCIA-BML followed by presentation about the project objective and activities by Hana Nehme Haidar from CCIA-BML and Imane Traboulsi from MIDAL .

The meeting gathered Advisory Board members from academia, TVET, business industries and public authorities represented by Marcel Hinain, Vice President American University of Technology (AUT); Issam Abi Nader, Higher Industrial Technical Institute, Talal Hijazi, General Manager, Association of Lebanese Industrialists (ALI); Elie Berbari, Director General , National Employment Office; Zeina BOU MAROUN , Senior TVET Consultant; and Dr. Hussein Traboulsi, Head of the Department of Economics and Finance , Lebanese University and the HorizonCraft project teams from both partners Dory Abou Saab from CCIA-BML, Patrick saliba, Anissa bitar from MIDAL Association.

The meeting presented the project objectives, launched strategic discussions on identification of key skills gaps and definition of next steps, including finalization of selection criteria, validation of training content, and launch of the MSME needs assessment process.

HorizonCraft is a 24-month project, funded under the Interreg NEXT MED Programme.

وقد تضمّن البرنامج سلسلة من الأنشطة التفاعلية التي قدّمتها وحدة النوع الاجتماعي في اليونيفيل، وأسهمت في توفير مساحة آمنة للنساء للتعبير والحوار وبناء الثقة وتعزيز الدعم النفسي والاجتماعي. وشاركت في البرنامج خمسون سيدة وفتاة من البلدة والجوار. وقدّمت الحفل الأستاذة هبة بلحص.

We are proud to announce the launch of Horizon Craft, a new regional project funded by the European Union under the Interreg NEXT MED Programme, officially launched in Beirut.

Over the next two years, the project will be implemented in Lebanon, Italy, and Egypt, in partnership with leading organization TDM2000 and to support youth, particularly in rural and underserved areas by strengthening their skills, enhancing employability, and improving access to the labour market through innovative and future-oriented approaches.

Following the HorizonCraft kick-off meeting in Cagliari, the Lebanese partners, MIDAL Association and the Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture of Beirut and Mount Lebanon held their first collaboration review meeting today at the Chamber’s premises.
Discussions focused on the upcoming activities planned for the first two quarters of the project. Both parties agreed to continue and strengthen their collaboration toward achieving impactful and sustainable outcomes.
HorizonCraft is a 24-month project funded under the Interreg NEXT MED Programme and led by Associazione TDM 2000, aiming to address youth unemployment and skills mismatch in Southern Sardinia (Italy), Beirut (Lebanon), and Alexandria (Egypt).
By enhancing employability and aligning skills with labor market needs, the project seeks to expand job opportunities for young people. These efforts directly contribute to reducing unemployment and fostering inclusive economic growth in the target regions.

Our team was pleased to participate in the Kick-Off Meeting of the HorizonCraft Project, held in Cagliary, Italy on 12–13 January.
The project is co-funded by the European Union under the Interreg NEXT MED Programme.
The meeting brought together all project partners to align on shared objectives, define the implementation roadmap, and set the foundation for effective collaboration. The opening keynote of HorizonCraft was delivered by representatives of the Interreg NEXT MED Managing Authority, alongside the Lead Partner and partner representatives.
This was followed by the Launching Conference, during which each partner presented its role in the project in the presence of key stakeholders.
Key highlights included:
Strong enthusiasm and commitment from all partners
A shared determination to address challenges through cooperation
Youth-driven energy shaping ideas, innovation, and collaboration
Within the framework of HorizonCraft, MIDAL will lead the capacity-building activities on entrepreneurship across the three participating countries, including the development of practical guides and the implementation of dedicated Work Package activities.
These efforts will be carried out in close cooperation with the Lead Partner, Associazione TDM 2000, and project partners:

Chamber of Commerce, Industry and Agriculture of Beirut and Mount Lebanon, Have A Dream, CEEBA – Confederation of Egyptian European Business Associations, and Confartigianato Imprese Sud Sardegna.

Midal Association, in partnership with UNIFIL's, Gender Unit and in cooperation with the Municipality of Maarakah, held a celebration as part of the Women's Empowerment Programme in South Lebanon.
The event was attended by the president and members of the Municipal Council of Maarakah, a delegation from UNIFIL, representatives of the Lebanese Army in the South, the director of the Makani Center, and a number of local women and prominent figures.

Position Title: Senior Project Coordinator
Contract Duration: Fixed-term contract of 3 years (January 2026 – December 2029), subject to performance and funding.
Location: Lebanon- Beirut.

Reporting Line: Reports to the programs director.

Position Summary: MIDAL Association is seeking a highly qualified and experienced proactive projects coordinator to lead the planning, implementation, coordination, and reporting of multi-year projects.
The Projects Coordinator will play a key role in ensuring high-quality implementation of MIDAL’s programs focusing on women and youth empowerment, economic inclusion, social cohesion, education, health, and civic participation, in full compliance with donor regulations and MIDAL’s strategic objectives for 2026–2029.

Key Responsibilities
1. Projects Management & Implementation
• Coordinate the day-to-day implementation of EU and international donor-funded projects in line with approved proposals, logical frameworks, budgets, and timelines.
• Ensure activities are delivered with high quality, impact, and compliance with donor and MIDAL standards.
• Develop detailed work plans, implementation schedules, and coordination mechanisms with projects teams and partners.
• Conduct regular field visits to monitor progress and provide technical support to implementation teams.
2. Donor Compliance & Reporting
• Ensure full compliance with European Union regulations, contractual obligations, visibility guidelines, and reporting requirements.
• Lead the preparation of narrative progress reports, final reports, and supporting documentation in coordination with the Finance and M&E team.
• Support audits, evaluations, and donor verifications as required.
3. Stakeholder & Partnership Coordination
• Maintain strong coordination with local and international partners, municipalities, community groups, consultants, and service providers.
• Represent MIDAL in coordination meetings, donor briefings, and external events related to the projects.
• Ensure effective communication and collaboration among all project stakeholders.
4. Monitoring, Evaluation & Learning
• Coordinate with the M&E team to ensure proper data collection, documentation of results, and tracking of indicators.
• Contribute to learning processes, best practices documentation, and capitalization of project outcomes.
• Support adaptive management based on monitoring findings and community feedback.
5. Team & Operational Coordination
• Supervise projects staff, consultants, and facilitators assigned to the projects.
• Coordinate closely with the Finance & Administration unit to ensure sound financial planning, budget follow-up, and procurement compliance.
• Support internal coordination, team meetings, and organizational learning processes.

Required Qualifications & Experience:
• Bachelor’s degree in Business Management, Economics, Social Sciences, Development Studies, Political Science, or a related field.
(Master’s degree is a strong asset.)
• Minimum 5 years of proven professional experience in project coordination or management within NGOs or international organizations.
• Demonstrated experience working with European Union-funded projects, including strong knowledge of EU rules, procedures, and reporting standards.
• Solid experience in one or more of the following areas: women’s empowerment, youth development, economic empowerment, social cohesion, civic engagement, or education.
• Strong organizational, coordination, and problem-solving skills.
• Ability to work independently, manage multiple priorities, and meet deadlines under pressure.
• Excellent interpersonal, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
• Fluency in English and Arabic (written and spoken); French is an asset.
• Strong computer skills, including MS Office and project management tools.
