Last Saturday, we had a beautiful hike with visually impaired persons in Wadi El Salib, filled with great spirit, teamwork, and joy.
This special day was made possible through the joint efforts of LMTA, Mission Village, and our numerous dedicated volunteers, whose support made the experience safe, inclusive, and unforgettable. Their commitment, energy, and generosity were at the heart of this wonderful day.
A special thank you to Washtahi for the warm welcome and wonderful lunch, where both the food and the ambiance were truly at the top of the program. The day continued with a lovely handcraft activity, where participants created beautiful flower designs using real flowers on tote bags.
Together, we continue to create moments of inclusion, connection, and joy.

A distribution was carried out by the Parish Committee at Notre Dame de la Paix Church to support migrant workers affected by the war, many of whom are facing displacement, insecurity, and limited access to basic needs. The clothes distributed during this initiative were generously provided by EQUAL.
This initiative was more than a distribution. It was an act of solidarity, dignity, and care toward individuals who are often overlooked in times of crisis. In moments of hardship, support means seeing people, recognizing their struggle, and standing beside them.
We extend our heartfelt thanks to everyone who contributed to making this support possible. Together, we continue to believe that no one should be left behind.

Did you know?

Over 43 million people worldwide are blind, and millions more live with visual impairments — yet many barriers they face are not caused by blindness itself, but by inaccessible environments and misconceptions.

With accessibility, inclusion, and equal opportunities, visually impaired persons can study, work, travel, hike, lead, and live independently just like everyone else.

Inclusion is not optional — it is a right. ♿️🤍

During times of displacement and uncertainty, persons with visual impairments have been actively supporting the EQUAL team in reaching out to other blind and low vision individuals affected by the war and helping assess their urgent needs.

Because inclusion means working with persons with disabilities — not simply for them. ♿🤍

🌍 Did You Know?

The accessibility app Be My Eyes has now connected more than 1 million blind and low vision users with over 10 million volunteers worldwide — proving how technology and human connection can work together to break barriers.

At EQUAL, we believe that accessibility is not just about tools — it is about dignity, independence, and equal participation in everyday life.

From reading labels and navigating unfamiliar places to accessing education, work, and community spaces, small acts of accessibility can create life-changing impact.

Inclusion does not happen automatically.
It happens when people choose to make the world more accessible — together. ♿🤍

Women in leadership are not the exception — they are a force for change. ✨

We proudly congratulate Dr. Amal Chaiya, member of the municipal council and a visually impaired advocate and speaker, on being honored during the celebration held under the theme “Because You Are an Unbreakable Strength” in recognition of International Women’s Day.

Through her voice, determination, and active role in public life, Dr. Amal continues to break barriers and challenge stereotypes surrounding disability and women in leadership. Her impact goes beyond representation — she inspires others to believe that disability is never a limitation to influence, success, or meaningful change within society.

Her journey stands as a powerful reminder that empowered women empower communities, and that inclusion in leadership creates stronger and more compassionate societies for all. 💪🤍

No person with a disability should ever have to beg for an opportunity.
Employment is not charity.
Inclusion is not a favor.
And disability does not cancel competence.
Stop focusing on the disability and start seeing the ability, the skills, the potential, and the value a person brings.
The real question should never be:
“Can we hire them?”
It should be:
“How many talented people are we excluding because of our own stereotypes?”
Persons with disabilities do not need pity.
They need equal opportunities, fair chances, and environments that believe in their capabilities.
See the ability. Change the mindset. Build inclusive workplaces.

Clothing is more than fabric — it is warmth, dignity, and a reminder that no one should face hardship alone. ❤️
EQUAL, in collaboration with Notre Dame de la Paix Church Jounieh and the Focolari, organized a clothing distribution at Saint Joseph Church in Monot for Sudanese and Eritrean families facing difficult circumstances.
Through this initiative, we aimed to spread solidarity, restore dignity, and stand beside vulnerable communities with compassion and humanity.
A heartfelt thank you to all the volunteers, partners, and donors whose generosity made this possible. Every contribution carried a message of hope, care, and shared humanity.
Together, we continue building a more compassionate, supportive, and inclusive society for all.
