Al Shabiba Risala

Al Shabiba Risala This involves developing an understanding of the spectrum of forgiveness, from a space of basic coexistence all the way to complete reconciliation.

Al Shabiba Risala is a locally led, diverse community of peace-seekers working primarily with the emerging generation in Lebanon to transform conflict and prevent violence. We Serve with youth and young adults from various communities in Lebanon, providing education in nonviolent conflict resolution through the Forgiveness Journey curriculum. Our projects have included groups from Lebanese, Palest

inian, Syrian and Iraqi communities of various religious backgrounds. Restoring relationships between host and displaced communities as well as Lebanon’s own array of diverse socio-religious communities. Intergroup engagement is core to our work, bringing opposed groups together in order to nurture the aspects of reconciliation they have learned from the Forgiveness Journey in a real world setting. Our forgiveness based approach to peacebuilding is founded in the research of the International Forgiveness Institute (www.internationalforgiveness.com) and developed accordingly within the context of Lebanon.

Before an arrow flies forward, it is drawn back. Maybe growth is sometimes like that too.

Starting this week, every 3 days we’ll release one arrow in a 9-part journey. We invite you to follow along one arrow, one step, one story at a time…

We are all made from the same clay. Ordinary, imperfect, human.
But in the Potter’s hands, each of us is shaped with purpose.

Last night at Youth we spent time working with clay and reflecting on the story of Moses. Someone who felt weak, unsure, and unqualified, yet still chosen by God.

It was a simple but honest reminder that God doesn’t wait for us to be perfect to use us. He already knows us and still calls us.

Different shapes. Same clay. One purpose.

Module 4 — The Ministry of Reconciliation - Done ✅

This last module of our Peace Leaders Training focused on reconciliation in a practical and grounded way. Walter Nicora taught on biblical principles of reconciliation, exploring truth, justice, and restoration as realities that call for action. On Saturday, Mrs. Chaden Hani led a session on historical narratives, helping us reflect on how different stories shape conflict and why engaging them honestly matters.

We also spent time hiking and reflecting together on justice, what it means and how we recognize it. Through a creative exercise, participants explored justice as radical generosity, radical advocacy, radical responsibility, and radical equality.

Alongside practical exercises, we began considering how reconciliation can be lived out in our communities.

A full, challenging, and honest weekend!

War leaves more than physical destruction… it leaves wounds in hearts, especially among the next generation. In Lebanon, many young people are growing up surrounded by instability, fear, and uncertainty about their future.

We cannot change the past, but we can build what comes next.

We have already stepped out in faith and moved into a building: a space dedicated to restoring hope and equipping lives. A place where youth are discipled, where peace is taught and lived, and where community, creativity, and support come together to bring healing and purpose.

But now we face an urgent need.

We must cover the mortgage payment by May to keep this space open and continue the work. This is not just about a building. It’s about protecting a place where lives are being transformed every day.

This center is a response to the brokenness around us. It is a commitment to stand, to serve, and to invest in a generation that will shape the future of Lebanon.

If you feel led to stand with us in this critical moment, you can give here:

As part of our work with ASR, we had a meeting with displaced families in Kchach in collaboration with the Armenian Evangelical College in Hamra. During this time, we were able to spend intentional moments with the children and run a full programme together, including games, sharing the story of Jesus calming the storm, asking reflective questions, and singing worship songs.

We also distributed psychosocial support kits tailored to different age groups. These kits include activities and materials designed to help children cope with the situation, express their emotions in healthy ways, and develop practical tools for resilience.

We are very thankful for this opportunity to serve, connect, and bring moments of joy and hope in the midst of difficult circumstances. Please continue to keep these families in your prayers.

On Wednesday 8 April, Lebanon experienced one of the most devastating waves of bombings since the start of this conflict. In just minutes, multiple areas across the country, including Beirut, were hit. Many people lost their lives and thousands were injured. Families and communities were deeply shaken, and the weight of it is still hard to process for everyone.

In the middle of everything, ASR work continues. As Ramy, our director, shares in this video, we remain on the ground, serving with compassion, holding onto faith, and choosing to be a light in the darkness. We believe God is still at work, bringing comfort, strength, and hope to those who need it, and we are honoured to be part of that.

Please continue to pray, stand with us, and believe for strength and hope over this nation, especially in the coming days.

If you would like to give, our “Stand With Lebanon” link is on the bio. Thank you!
