On October 17, 1955, Haigazian University was established in Beirut, Lebanon by the joint endeavors of the Armenian Missionary Association of America (AMAA) and the Union of the Armenian Evangelical Churches in the Near East (UAECNE). This eastern Mediterranean institution is a liberal arts university that operates on the United States model of higher education using English as the language of ins

truction. It emphasizes a challenging curriculum, good teacher-student relations, and empowerment through the free search for truth. Haigazian is the home campus to students from 20 countries throughout the world. degrees as well as Teaching Diploma. The majors available are Business Administration (with an emphasis in HOM, HRM, MIS, ACC, ADC, FIN), Hospitality Management, Economics, Armenian Studies, English Language, English Literature, Biology, Computer Science, Mathematics, Medical Laboratory Sciences, Nutrition Sciences and Dietetics, Education (Early Childhood, Elementary, Special Education) Political Science, Psychology, and Social Work. All students are assisted in their respective programs by a Faculty Advisor who works to enable them to make the best choices regarding their educational and vocational future. Assistance in the form of financial aid is available as well.

Haigazian University continues to make its mark on the national and international stage!

We are proud to celebrate the outstanding achievements of our students at the National Public Speaking Competition, organized by the English-Speaking Union (Lebanon Chapter), where leading universities from across the country competed.

Vahe Melkonian won First Prize and will travel to London to represent Lebanon at the prestigious International Public Speaking Competition, fully sponsored by the English-Speaking Union.

Yara Arnaout earned Third Prize, adding another remarkable accomplishment to Haigazian’s growing legacy of excellence in public speaking.

This achievement is particularly significant as it marks the second consecutive year that students from Haigazian’s Public Speaking course, meticulously thought and coached by the English Department Chair, Dr. Suha Safieddine, have claimed top national honors. Last year, Farah Jadayel, a Psychology major, won First Prize and proudly represented Lebanon in London.

These successes reflect not only the talent, dedication, and eloquence of our students, but also the continued strength of Haigazian University’s commitment to cultivating confident, thoughtful, and globally engaged communicators.

The Computer Science Department at Haigazian University proudly hosted the Capstone Project Presentations for the graduating Class of 2026.

Nine senior Computer Science students showcased their final-year projects, each demonstrating the innovative integration of Artificial Intelligence with practical, real-world applications. Their work highlighted not only technical excellence but also a strong commitment to addressing contemporary challenges through technology.

The projects were evaluated by a distinguished jury comprising Mr. Shant Estepan (Department Coordinator), Mr. Joe Hannouch, and Dr. Ahmad Bazzi, faculty members of the Computer Science Department. The presentations reflected exceptional creativity, rigorous research, advanced technical skills, and a spirit of innovation that made this year’s capstone projects truly remarkable.
