Founded in 2008, JUSTICIA is a non-profit civil
association that provides advice to governmental and non-governmental organizations. In addition, JUSTICIA conducts research, prepares studies, and publishes on a variety of subjects. It also designs and implements programs that further democratic values and human rights. Our goals:
- Promote the rule of law in Lebanon and the Arab Countries.
- In
crease access to justice by working to improve the legal system and providing rights education.
- Advocate for reforms that eradicate corruption, result in the government becoming more transparent, and increase civil liberties.
- Encourage positive relations between Muslims and Christians and work to advance the rights of women under the personal status law.
- Improve the relationship between citizens and the government.
- Support the efforts of governmental and non-governmental organisations to advance human rights. Founders and Officers:
DR. PAUL MORCOS, Attorney at Law, is JUSTICIA’s president. He is also the founder of JUSTICIA Beirut Consult Law Offices (www.justiciabc.com) and a law professor at the American University of Beirut, the Lebanese University, and La Sagesse University (previously). JUDGE MAYSSAM NOUEIRI, is the former Director-General of the Lebanese Ministry of Justice, she was appointed to this position in June 2014 after a long career, ending in 2014, at the Beirut Court of Appeal. In parallel, she also became the First President of Appeal of the Courts of Beirut. JUDGE DR. ELIAS NASSIF, former Judge (passed more than 40 years in the judiciary), President of honor of the Supreme Court, Professor in universities and the author of large number of legal encyclopedias. El Hajj is a researcher in the fields of law and human rights. He is also the notary public of Tyre, Lebanon. ANTOINE LOUTFI, is a founding member of Justicia and the foundation’s treasurer. Loutfi is an economist and a demographical analyst. He has a deep knowledge in the banking sector with more than eighteen years of experience. He holds a DESB in Banking studies, a DESS in Demographics and a bachelor degree in Sciences & Economics. Loutfi has many professional certificates from the Central Bank of Lebanon, the Association of Banks in Lebanon and from the Chartered Institute for Securities and Investment, London. ROSE IBRAHIM ABRAHAMIAN, is a founding member of JUSTICIA. Abrahamian is a university lecturer and senior analyst in the banking sector. HAYTHAM FAROOK EL AJAM, is a founding member of JUSTICIA. He is also a journalist, an economic analyst, and an economic and social rights consultant. FARES ABI KHALIL, is JUSTICIA’s executive coordinator. He is a jurist, a researcher, and a human rights activist. He holds a professional master's degree in International Organizations and Legal and Diplomatic Careers and a bachelor's degree in Political Sciences. Through his experience at JUSTICIA, Me. Abi Khali has acquired strong skills in law drafting and working with international partners. Abi Khalil has several professional certificates, including those from the Special Tribunal for Lebanon, and the Hague Academy of International Law.
