The AUB Medical Center’s Special Kids Clinic (ASKC) is a unique center in the Middle East, offering multi-disciplinary medical and treatment services to children with special needs. Since its recent inception in 2011 by Dr. Rose-Mary Boustany, MD, ASKC has already provided critical services to hundreds of families with children of varying difficulties and challenges, from autism and neurodevelopme
ntal disorders, to cerebral palsy, genetic disorders and congenital malformations. These services are conveniently provided within one setting, offering professionalism, comprehensive and effective treatment programs and support, all within a renowned medical center. It is our conviction, that such a gem of a center should work towards achieving three crucial goals: conducting much needed locally relevant scientific research projects in Lebanon and the region; educating and increasing awareness within the community, and empowering families and educators with functional tools and resources; and, last but not least, supporting families in financial need. Such activities require funding and OpenMinds has taken on this mission.
