Every day, thousands of animals in Lebanon face an uncertain future.

For displaced families already struggling with the devastating impact of war, caring for their pets has become even more difficult. The last thing any family needs is an unexpected litter of puppies or kittens born into already challenging conditions.

Thatโ€™s why spaying and neutering is so important.

Recently, we were honored to welcome Dr. Alicia, a veterinarian who traveled from the United States to Lebanon to volunteer her time and expertise helping animals in need.

During her visit, she spayed and neutered 26 dogs and cats, including rescued animals under our care and pets belonging to displaced families.

Because of her generosity, dozens of animals will be protected from unwanted pregnancies, future suffering will be prevented, and families facing hardship will have one less burden to carry.

We are incredibly grateful to Dr. Alicia for donating her time, skills, and compassion to animals in need.

Spaying and neutering save lives. They prevent suffering before it starts and help ensure every animal has the chance to receive the care, food, and attention they deserve.

Remember the little lion cub confiscated with armed police a few months ago? ๐Ÿ’”

When he arrived to us, he was fighting for his life.

This tiny cub, whom we named Mufasa, had already been bought, sold, and traded by at least five different people before being rescued. He was barely two weeks old when he was ripped away from his mother โ€” far too young to survive on his own.

By the time we confiscated him, he was suffering from:
โ€ข Sarcoptic mange
โ€ข Metabolic bone disease
โ€ข A severe cough
โ€ข Severe constipation that required hospitalization and urgent medical intervention

For months, our team worked day and night to save him. There were difficult moments, sleepless nights, emergency vet visits, medications, special care, and constant monitoring.

Today, seeing him healthy, playful, and growing stronger reminds us why this work matters. ๐Ÿฆ

But no wild animal should ever go through this suffering just because someone wanted a โ€œpetโ€ or a photo prop.

The good news? This little survivor now has a safe and loving forever sanctuary waiting for him in South Africa, and his paperwork is currently in process. ๐Ÿ‡ฟ๐Ÿ‡ฆ

Not all ways of carrying a cat are safe.

Improper handling can put unnecessary strain on a catโ€™s spine and body, causing discomfort or even injury over time.

Always support both the front and back of your catโ€™s body, and hold them close so they feel secure and comfortable.

Over the past two years, her family has been displaced twice due to the conflict in southern Lebanon.

The first time, Oreo was placed in boarding while her owner searched for safety. Eventually, they were reunited. But now, with the recent escalation, Oreo has once again found herself alone in a kennel, separated from the person she loves most.

The stress has taken a devastating toll.

Oreo became withdrawn, stopped eating, and lost a significant amount of weight. A veterinary examination revealed that she is suffering from Ehrlichia, for which she is now receiving treatment. But her physical illness is only part of the story.

Oreo is struggling emotionally. She suffers from severe separation anxiety and is not coping well in a boarding environment. What she needs most right now is not a kennel. She needs comfort. She needs stability. She needs to feel safe again.

We are urgently looking for a foster home where Oreo can recover, rest, and receive the love and reassurance she desperately needs while her owner navigates yet another displacement.

We will cover all expenses and provide everything needed for her care, including food, medication, and veterinary treatment. All she needs from you is a safe place, kindness, and the chance to feel loved again.

Since this morning, messages have been circulating about escalation of Israeli strikes in Beirut. Fear and uncertainty are spreading quickly, and many families have already reached out asking for help to remove their pets once again.

Many are making the heartbreaking decision to leave their homes in areas they fear may be at risk and seek safety elsewhere. Sadly, these are the same families who have already been forced to evacuate several times.

In moments like this, we ask everyone to remember the animals who are often left behind in the chaos. Pets, community animals, and shelter residents depend entirely on human care and protection.

If you are evacuating, please take your animals with you. Do not leave them locked inside homes, on balconies, or tied outside. Prepare carriers, leashes, food, water, medication, and any essential documents in advance.

If you need assistance with catching an animal or require transport equipment such as carriers, please reach out to us. We will do our best to help.
