Building skills for stronger livelihoods. 🌿🍎

In a challenging economic environment, access to practical skills and livelihood opportunities can make a meaningful difference for individuals and families seeking greater financial stability.

Through JRS Lebanon’s Agro-Food Training, participants are developing practical food-production skills that can support future employment, small businesses, and income-generating opportunities.

During a recent hands-on session, participants learned the process of preparing dried fruits, following each step and applying their knowledge through practical experience.

Through trainings like these, JRS aims to go beyond short-term assistance by strengthening participants skills, confidence, and capacity to pursue sustainable livelihood opportunities and greater economic self-reliance.

في ظلّ التحديات الاقتصادية الصعبة، يمكن أن يشكّل الوصول إلى المهارات العملية وفرص سبل العيش خطوة أساسية نحو تعزيز الاستقرار المالي للأفراد والعائلات.

من خلال تدريب الصناعات الغذائية الذي تقدّمه الهيئة اليسوعية لخدمة الإنسان في لبنان، يعمل المشاركون على تطوير مهارات عملية في مجال إنتاج الأغذية، بما يساهم في دعم فرصهم المستقبلية في العمل، وإطلاق مشاريع صغيرة، وخلق مصادر دخل.

وخلال إحدى الجلسات التطبيقية، تعرّف المشاركون على خطوات تحضير الفواكه المجففة، وشاركوا بشكل مباشر في مختلف مراحل التحضير، ما أتاح لهم التعلّم من خلال التجربة العملية.

من خلال هذه التدريبات، تسعى الهيئة اليسوعية إلى تجاوز المساعدة قصيرة الأمد، عبر تعزيز مهارات المشاركين وثقتهم بأنفسهم وقدرتهم على الوصول إلى فرص عمل أكثر استدامة وتحقيق قدر أكبر من الاستقلال الاقتصادي.

As the new academic year begins, JRS Lebanon’s Noor 1 School in Baalbek welcomed children with a series of fun and interactive activities, bringing joy, excitement, and positive energy to the start of their school year.

Through these activities, we aim to create a safe, supportive, and inclusive learning environment where every child feels welcomed, encouraged, and empowered to begin their educational journey with confidence and hope for a brighter future.

مع انطلاق العام الدراسي الجديد، استقبلت مدرسة النور الأولى التابعة للهيئة اليسوعية لخدمة الإنسان في بعلبك الأطفال بمجموعة من الأنشطة الترفيهية والتفاعلية، التي أضفت أجواءً من الفرح والطاقة الإيجابية على بداية عامهم الدراسي.

نسعى من خلال هذه الأنشطة إلى توفير بيئة تعليمية آمنة وداعمة وشاملة، يشعر فيها كل طفل بالترحيب والتشجيع والانتماء، ليبدأ رحلته التعليمية بثقة وأمل بمستقبل أكثر إشراقاً.

Strengthening Protection and Building Safer Communities

JRS Lebanon brought together social workers from Bar Elias and Baalbek for a training on Child Protection (CP) and Gender-Based Violence (GBV) at our Bar Elias Social Center.

The training focused on recognizing signs of abuse, applying survivor-centered approaches, ensuring safe and confidential referrals, and strengthening case management practices.

Through practical case studies and self-care discussions, participants enhanced their skills to better support vulnerable children and survivors while safeguarding their safety, dignity, and confidentiality.

At JRS Lebanon, we remain committed to strengthening the capacities of our frontline teams to provide safe, respectful, and effective protection services.

نظّمت الهيئة اليسوعية لخدمة الإنسان للاجئين في لبنان، تدريباً للأخصائيين الاجتماعيين من منطقتَي برالياس وبعلبك، في مركز برالياس الاجتماعي، حول حماية الطفل والوقاية من العنف القائم على النوع الاجتماعي والاستجابة له.

ركّز التدريب على التعرّف إلى أشكال إساءة معاملة الأطفال ومؤشراتها، واعتماد نهج يضع الناجين والناجيات في محور الاستجابة، إلى جانب تعزيز مهارات الإحالة الآمنة والسرّية وإدارة الحالات.

ومن خلال دراسات حالات تطبيقية وجلسات حول الرعاية الذاتية، عزّز المشاركون مهاراتهم في تقديم الدعم للأطفال والناجين والناجيات، مع الحفاظ على سلامتهم وكرامتهم وخصوصيتهم.

🎀 Awareness is a step toward prevention and well-being.

As part of Breast Cancer Awareness Month, JRS Lebanon organized an awareness session at the Bar Elias Social Center, providing participants with valuable information on breast health, early detection, and the importance of self-care.

The session also created a supportive space for participants to learn, engage, and feel cared for, reinforcing our commitment to promoting women's health, awareness, and well-being. 💗

🎀 التوعية خطوة نحو الوقاية وتعزيز الصحة والرفاه.

بمناسبة الشهر العالمي للتوعية بسرطان الثدي، نظّمت الهيئة اليسوعية لخدمة الإنسان في لبنان جلسة توعوية في المركز الاجتماعي في برالياس، هدفت إلى تزويد المشاركات بمعلومات قيّمة حول صحة الثدي، وأهمية الكشف المبكر والعناية بالصحة.

كما شكّلت الجلسة مساحة داعمة للتعلّم والتفاعل وتبادل المعلومات، تأكيدًا على التزامنا بتعزيز صحة النساء ورفع مستوى الوعي والاهتمام بسلامتهن ورفاههن. 💗

Creating opportunities for women to learn, grow, and strengthen their livelihoods. 💻✨

For Dima, the Digital Marketing course at JRS Social Center in Bar Elias helped her gain practical skills that supported her own business.

Across JRS Social Centers in Bourj Hammoud, Bar Elias, and Baalbek, these learning opportunities support women in developing their skills, expanding their opportunities, and building greater confidence and independence.

بالنسبة إلى ديما، ساعدتها دورة التسويق الرقمي في مركز الهيئة اليسوعية الاجتماعي في برالياس على اكتساب مهارات عملية دعمتها في تطوير مشروعها الخاص.

A new school year begins at JRS Nahreya School in Bar Elias. 📚✨

On the first day of school, classrooms once again came to life with new faces, familiar smiles, and the excitement of learning together.

In a context where many children continue to face challenges in accessing education, returning to the classroom is an important step toward stability, growth, and hope.

At JRS, we remain committed to creating safe and welcoming learning spaces where every child can learn, participate, and build toward a brighter future.

عام دراسي جديد يبدأ في مدرسة النهرية التابعة للهيئة اليسوعية لخدمة الإنسان في لبنان - برالياس. 📚✨

في اليوم الأول من المدرسة، عادت الصفوف جديد، بوجوه جديدة، وابتسامات مألوفة، وحماس للعودة إلى التعلّم معًا.

وفي ظلّ التحديات التي لا يزال يواجهها العديد من الأطفال في الوصول إلى التعليم، تشكّل العودة إلى الدراسة خطوة مهمة نحو الاستقرار، والنمو، والأمل.

On the World Day of Migrants and Refugees, we stand with all those whose journeys have been shaped by migration, refuge, or displacement in search of safety, stability, and dignity.

In Lebanon, the escalation during 2026 displaced more than one million people, including around 390,000 children. While many families have since returned, 341,228 people remained internally displaced across the country as of 15 September 2026.

At the same time, Lebanon continues to host large refugee communities, including 889,625 Syrian refugees registered with UNHCR as of 30 June 2026, alongside other refugee communities living in the country.

Lebanon is also home to a significant migrant population. The International Organization for Migration identified 164,490 migrants from 77 nationalities across the country, with women representing 71% of those identified.

Children remain among those most affected by these overlapping crises. A nationwide assessment of 1,089 education facilities found 436 damaged and 37 destroyed, creating further challenges to safe and continuous access to education.

في اليوم العالمي للمهاجرين واللاجئين، نقف إلى جانب كل من شكّلت الهجرة أو اللجوء أو النزوح جزءًا من رحلته بحثًا عن الأمان، والاستقرار، والكرامة.

في لبنان، أدّى التصعيد خلال عام 2026 إلى نزوح أكثر من مليون شخص، من بينهم نحو 390,000 طفل. ورغم عودة العديد من العائلات، بقي 341,228 شخصًا نازحين داخل البلاد حتى 15 أيلول/سبتمبر 2026.

وفي الوقت نفسه، يواصل لبنان استضافة مجتمعات لاجئة كبيرة، من بينها 889,625 لاجئًا سوريًا مسجّلًا لدى المفوضية السامية للأمم المتحدة لشؤون اللاجئين حتى 30 حزيران/يونيو 2026، إلى جانب مجتمعات لاجئة أخرى تعيش في البلاد.

كما يعيش في لبنان عدد كبير من المهاجرين. وقد حدّدت المنظمة الدولية للهجرة وجود 164,490 مهاجرًا من 77 جنسية في مختلف أنحاء البلاد، وتشكل النساء 71% منهم.

ويبقى الأطفال من بين الأكثر تأثرًا بهذه الأزمات المتداخلة. فقد أظهر تقييم وطني شمل 1,089 منشأة تعليمية أن 436 منشأة تضررت و37 منشأة دُمّرت، ما يضيف تحديات جديدة أمام الوصول الآمن والمستمر إلى التعليم.

في الهيئة اليسوعية لخدمة الإنسان في لبنان، نواصل مرافقة اللاجئين والمهاجرين والنازحين، ودعم الأطفال والعائلات من خلال التعليم، والحماية، والدعم النفسي والاجتماعي، وغيرها من الخدمات التي تصون الكرامة وتعزّز الأمل.

Building safer, stronger, and more prepared teams across JRS Lebanon. 🛡️

JRS Lebanon’s Security Department has completed the first round of Safety and Security trainings for staff across all areas of operation, equipping teams with the knowledge, practical skills, and confidence to navigate uncertainty and respond effectively when it matters most.

The trainings covered First Aid, Fire Safety and Emergency Response, Active Shooter Preparedness, Workplace Violence, UXO and ERW Awareness, Incident Reporting and Contingency Planning, Humanitarian Negotiations, as well as Defensive Driving and Field Movement Safety.

Through continuous learning and preparedness, JRS Lebanon remains committed to strengthening staff safety and ensuring teams are better equipped to operate responsibly and effectively in challenging environments.

أنهى قسم الأمن في الهيئة اليسوعية لخدمة الإنسان في لبنان الجولة الأولى من تدريبات السلامة والأمن لموظفي الهيئة اليسوعية في مختلف مناطق عملها، بهدف تعزيز معارفهم ومهاراتهم العملية وثقتهم في التعامل مع حالات الطوارئ والظروف غير المتوقعة.

وشملت التدريبات الإسعافات الأولية، التوعية بالسلامة من الحرائق، التوعية بمخاطر حوادث إطلاق النار العشوائي والعنف المرتبط بمكان في العمل، التوعية بمخاطر الذخائر غير المنفجرة ومخلفات الحرب، الإبلاغ عن الحوادث والتخطيط للطوارئ، المفاوضات في مجال العمل الإنساني​، إضافة إلى القيادة الوقائية وإجراءات السلامة أثناء التنقل الميداني​.

من خلال التدريب المستمر وتعزيز الجاهزية، تواصل الهيئة اليسوعية لخدمة الإنسان في لبنان التزامها بسلامة موظفيها وتمكين فرقها من العمل بمسؤولية وفعالية في مختلف الظروف.

In a time when many children and families in Lebanon continue to face uncertainty and challenges that can disrupt access to education, returning to the classroom carries an even deeper meaning. 🎒📚

At FVDL School in Bourj Hammoud, students are beginning a new school year, reconnecting with their classmates, returning to a familiar learning environment, and continuing their educational journey despite the difficulties around them.

Through safe, inclusive, and supportive learning spaces, JRS Lebanon works alongside children, families, teachers, and communities to help ensure that education remains accessible and that every learner has the opportunity to grow, participate, and look towards the future with hope.

في وقتٍ لا تزال فيه العديد من العائلات والأطفال في لبنان يواجهون تحديات وضغوطاً تؤثر على الوصول إلى التعليم واستمراريته، تحمل العودة إلى المدرسة معنى أعمق من مجرد بداية عام دراسي جديد. 🎒📚

في مدرسة FVDL في برج حمود، يعود الطلاب إلى صفوفهم، ويلتقون بزملائهم من جديد، ويستعيدون روتين التعلّم ضمن بيئة مألوفة وداعمة، ليواصلوا مسيرتهم التعليمية رغم الصعوبات المحيطة بهم.
