The Lebanese Korean Friendship Association was registered at and licensed by the Ministry of Interior of the Republic of Lebanon- Directorate General for Political Affairs in June 21, 1997- license number 77. icense number 77. The Association was founded by five Lebanese businessmen and trade agents of Korean products, Hanna Zeinoun, Hassan Sharkawi, Ghassan Rasamny, Salim Antaki, and Samir Shahrouri. On August 10, 2002, the first LKFA Board was elected by forty four members, and was composed of Salim Antaki as President, Faris Hakim as Vice President, Hanna Zeinoun as Secretary, Abdul Nasser Jneid as Treasurer, and three board members Salim Amatoury, Wajih el Bizri, and Samir Shahroury. The Association was actively involved in all sorts of business and cultural exchange activities, including enhancing trade exchange and organizing art and cultural exhibitions. In 2010 the Ambassador of Korea to Lebanon attempted towards reactivating the Association through inviting a selected number of Lebanese figures to join as members and encouraged the board to arrange for new elections. On June 15, 2011, former and newly joining members gathered and carried out the board elections, that brought Raymond Chammas as President, Walid Zreik as Vice-President, Hanna Zeinoun as Secretary, Ziad Saba as Treasurer and two board members, Khalil Abboud and Talal Chami. In addition to a series of interaction meetings with the Korean Embassy and Korean community in Lebanon, the LKFA delegated a group of businessmen headed by President Raymond Chammas who participated in the 2012 G-Fair in Korea and met Prime Minister of Korea Kim Hwang-sik, in addition to launching the Lebanese Korean Business Council in 2013 by the Founder Hanna Zenioun. In May 2015, a new board was elected with Walid Rasamny as President, Joanna Dagher Hayek as Vice-President, Hanna Zeinoun maintained his position as Secretary and Ziad Saba as Treasurer, and an extended number of members, Walid Zreik, Khalil Abboud, Joseph Saker, Talal Chami and Wadih Zabbat. The board has started its tour of duty with the launching of the LKFA website and its agenda, for the coming years, will include several other programs and activities.
