MARCH

MARCH March dreams of an open-minded, peaceful and tolerant Lebanese society, with diversity and equality in rights among all its citizens

Established in February 2011, MARCH is a civil movement, actively seeking to safe keep the tenets of a peaceful and prosperous Lebanon. MARCH believes that this can only happen in a strong, democratic and integrally sovereign nation, where rule of law is imposed, the constitution exercised, and human rights respected. One necessary condition towards that end, and a primary objective of March is to

instill, at the individual level, a genuine respect for national and civic duties and rights, and equality in them. We focus our efforts on the youth, who represent the largest pool of future actors and our best hopes for positive change in leadership. MARCH’s mission is to militate for enforcing rule of law and democracy, and promote both effective citizenship and genuine reconciliation between the various communities, by educating, motivating, involving and empowering the youth through creative campaigning, awareness-raising initiatives, and focused projects. GIVING CIVIL SOCIETY A SAY IN THE FUTURE OF LEBANON

MARCH works on raising awareness among fellow citizens on the importance of pledging total allegiance to the State and its Constitution and contributing to the future of their country. Our objective is to get this message through so that civil society gets out of its apparent lethargy, stands up and be counted, and asserts an uncompromising presence in the political arena. The leaders of tomorrow's Lebanon democratic, independent, free and sovereign - will arise from there.

We don’t post much about this part. It doesn’t photograph well.

But no young person moves past what they’ve lived through because someone handed them a training certificate. That work happens slowly, in small rooms, with people who know how to hold it.

☀️💧 Where there is sun, there can be water. And where there are young people, there can be change.

76 solar panels. 8 water wells. More than 2,000 people in Wadi Nahle, Tripoli with a reliable source of water powered entirely by the sun.

Installed by youth from Jabal Mohsen, Beb el Tebbaneh, Mankoubin and Wadi Nahle. Different neighborhoods, one team, one city.

Clean energy, clean water, and a community that no longer has to wait for either.

☀️ 76 panels. 8 wells. 2,000+ people with water. And one team that built it together.

In Wadi Nahle, Tripoli, the sun now does the pumping.

We’ve just installed 76 new solar panels to bring 8 water wells back to life, wells that had been standing still, waiting for electricity that rarely came. Today they run on sunlight: no fuel bills, no generators, no waiting for the power to return.

But the panels are only half the story. This project was carried out by young people from across Tripoli — from Jabal Mohsen, Beb el Tebbaneh, Mankoubin and Wadi Nahle — working side by side, on the same site, toward the same result. Different neighbourhoods, one project, one city.

More than 2,000 people now have a steady source of water for their homes, their families and their land.

From Beb Al-Tebbaneh Highway, a key artery connecting Tripoli with Akkar, Dinnieh, and Beirut, we’re continuing our solar-powered street lighting project. ☀️💡

Together, we’re lighting up Tripoli and creating safer streets for everyone. 💛

6 years. No truth. No justice. No forgetting. 🕯️

August 4, 2020. A day Beirut will never forget. Six years on, we honor the lives lost and stand with the families still waiting for justice.

A glimpse from Sawa Trablous Ahla ✨❤️

A day of smiles, laughter, and connection, bringing together children, families, and youth from Beb El Tebbaneh, Jabal Mohsen, Al Mallouleh, Wadi El Nahle, and neighboring areas.
Under the slogans “Together Against Drugs,” “Together Against Stray Bullets,” and “Together Against Sectarianism,” we came together to build bridges, break barriers, and celebrate what unites us. 🤝💙
Because Tripoli is always better when we’re together.

Thank you to Centre de crise et de soutien (CDCS) and Ambassade de France au Liban for supporting this event.
