CHF Lebanon mission is to be a catalyst for long-lasting positive change in low- and moderate- income communities, helping them to improve their social, economic and environmental conditions. CHF Lebanon is implementing different programs:
MENA YES Program: Middle East North Africa Youth Empowerment Strategy, funded by Caterpillar Foundation, with the aim to increase both the supply of and demand for skilled labor by facilitating linkages between the private sector and training providers so that youth can attain relevant skills and on the job work experience that directly matches the immediate needs of firms in targeted sectors. MENA YES is designed to bridge the gap between the skills needed by the private sector and the skills available in the labor market by working with private companies to identify their specific needs, engaging local training providers to collaborate with the private sector on the development or modification of training curriculums to address those needs, and facilitating the placement of trained youth in internships and apprenticeships with participating private sector firms. Additionally, MENA YES will better prepare youth for job placement and retention by providing employability skills training, with specific emphasis on soft skills in demand by the private sector. For youth inclined towards self employment, entrepreneurship trainings and access to finance will be facilitated. MENA YES will also facilitate the development of a mentoring program for participating youth, with experienced executives from participating private sector firms providing knowledge and guidance over time to youth who are interning, apprenticing, and pursuing additional training and hoping to follow similar career paths
The second program is for Syrian Refugees with the support of UNHCR.
