Located in Dayshounieh, a 15-minute drive from Beirut, we are part of an environmentally protected area surrounded by pine trees, mountains, and rivers; a perfect setting for our special students. We at Step Togeher (FiSTA) believe it is the ideal place to implement our educational methods that are based on the Waldrof Curriculum of Education. In our community, we follow Rudolf Steiner’s principle
s: ‘The renewal of education by learning to have a deeper understanding of the human being as a whole, developing social, ecological, economic, medical, spiritual and educational aspects.’
Step Together Association ensures implementation of independent living skills care and the education of children and adults with intellectual and developmental disabilities. The principles that are fundamental to the Steiner/Waldorf educational system are accessible to and are able to be adapted to the needs of different ethnicity, cultures, and religions. Curriculum content allows for the exploration of a wide variety of cultural traditions and worldviews. What We Do:
We provide our students with the necessary skills needed to become active members of the larger community outside our doors. Step Together Association is not only a second home to the students with a diversity of needs, but it is also a supportive and a helping hand to teachers, professionals, and parents in Lebanon and the Arab Region. We offer academic remedial, pre-vocational and vocational programs, as well as therapeutic care, for children and adults with special needs. We have six different programs catered to meet individual requirements for those with special needs. These programs combine traditional academic and vocational subject matters, presented through artistic work and hands on teaching experiences.
- Education: The academic section, known as Rudolf Steiner School, is registered with the Ministry of Education and gives some of our students the opportunity to integrate into mainstream education after their graduation.
- Productivity: We also offer job opportunities for our graduating students in our workshops.
