A flash of turquoise blue, a bright yellow throat, and tail feathers impossible to miss.

This colorful passage migrant graces Lebanon’s open landscapes during migration season, resting on electric lines and scattered trees along the way. But behind its beauty lie growing threats: human disturbance, illegal hunting agricultural expansion, and pesticide use.

Protecting habitats means protecting every winged traveler that passes through them.

Stone. Water. Time.

A landscape shaped by springs and memory – where daily life follows the rhythms of the land, and knowledge flows across generations.
This silk holds what is sacred here: water that sustains, and land entrusted to be cared for.

Ancient Latin inscriptions carved into Mount Lebanon trace back to the era of Hadrian, marking imperial forests once protected and used by the Roman Empire.

On International Day of Monuments and Sites, they stand as timeless reminders to preserve not only our landscapes, but the history etched within them.
