✨ Fellowship, Friendship & New Rotary Connections in Dubai ✨

What a wonderful evening of fellowship with the Rotary Club of Jumeirah Dubai and the Rotaract Club of Jumeirah at Galeries Lafayette, Dubai Mall!

As President of the Rotary Club of Beirut Cosmopolitan, I was delighted to reconnect with Ghenwa Haddad, President of the Rotary Club of Metn Gate, and to share this beautiful evening with President Bassel Wehbe, Past President Rabie Rafia, and the wonderful members and Rotaractors of Jumeirah, whose warmth, kindness and joyful spirit made us feel immediately at home.

In this beautiful and friendly atmosphere, we enjoyed a delightful hands-on cooking experience, learning to prepare — and of course taste — sushi and fresh pasta 🍣🍝, while sharing laughter, friendship and the true spirit of Rotary fellowship.

A special moment was our exchange of club banners, symbolizing the new bonds created between our clubs and our shared commitment to strengthen these connections. We look forward to future visits, exchanges and, hopefully, new projects together.

This is Rotary at its best: fellowship that connects people, friendship that crosses borders, and new relationships that can grow into meaningful collaboration and Create Lasting Impact.

“Service Above Self: commitment beyond oneself.”

In the true spirit of Rotary International, the CIP BeLux–Lebanon (Belgium–Luxembourg–Lebanon) has brought to life a remarkable Solidarity Action for Lebanon, delivering two 40-foot containers of humanitarian aid with medical and hygiene supplies, as well as essential equipment for hospitals, the Lebanese Civil Defense, and communities in need.

The Rotary Club of Beirut Cosmopolitan is proud to be part of this Inter-Country Committee and this meaningful international effort.

Our heartfelt gratitude to Dr. Sanaa Hamzeh, Sami Alouf, Joe Kanaan, the Embassy of Lebanon in Brussels and H.E. Ambassador Walid Haidar, and to HSF Belgium, CMA CGM Foundation, Association France-Louban Interculture, SOCAR Logistics, Groupe Chirec, as well as all donors, partners, Rotarians and volunteers who made this initiative possible.

Today, we celebrated not only two young lives given a second chance, but also the extraordinary legacy of Past President Mounir Jabre.

A devoted Rotarian and humanitarian, Mounir believed that the greatest gift we can offer is the gift of life. In his memory, and thanks to the generosity of his friends and the Gift of Life Lebanon family, two children have received life-saving heart surgeries.

Our deepest gratitude goes to PP Lina Shehayeb, Founder and President of Gift of Life Lebanon, to Hammoud Hospital, its exceptional medical team, physicians, nurses, caregivers, and to Dr. Ibrahim Omeiss, whose vision and dedication continue to make hope possible for countless children and families.

Mounir’s legacy lives on in every heartbeat saved, every smile restored, and every life transformed.

May God bless his beloved wife Rymane, his sons, and their families.

August 4. Six Years Later.

Six years have passed.

Yet the wounds remain open.
The scars still bleed.

Today, we bow our heads in memory of every victim of the Beirut Port explosion.

We pay tribute to the brave men and women of the Civil Defense, the Lebanese Army, the Internal Security Forces, firefighters, healthcare workers, first responders, volunteers, and every person who risked; or gave their life to save others.

Our hearts are with the families whose lives were forever shattered, with those who still mourn, with the missing whose fate remains unknown, and with every victim whose dignity deserves truth, recognition, and justice.

In the name of the Rotary Club of Beirut Cosmopolitan, we stand united in remembrance and reaffirm that there can be no lasting peace without truth, no reconciliation without justice, and no healing without accountability.

Beirut is not just a city. Beirut is our home. Beirut is our history. Beirut is our identity. Beirut lives within each one of us.

At 6:07 p.m., time stood still.

Our memory never will.

With profound sorrow and heavy hearts, we announce the passing of our dear friend, Mounir.

More than a brother, Mounir was one of the mentors, founding pillars, and guiding lights of the Rotary Club of Beirut Cosmopolitan. His wisdom, integrity, generosity, and unwavering commitment to Rotary and to humanity have left an indelible mark on all who had the privilege of knowing him.

Our Club is in mourning.

As a mark of respect and in honor of his memory, all fellowship events scheduled during the month of July are hereby cancelled.

We extend our deepest and most heartfelt condolences to his beloved wife, Rymane, our dear and faithful friend, and to his cherished children and all members of his family.

May his memory forever remain a source of inspiration to us all.

إِنَّا لِلَّٰهِ وَإِنَّا إِلَيْهِ رَاجِعُونَ
“Indeed, we belong to Allah, and indeed to Him we shall return.” (Qur’an 2:156)

With deep sorrow and profound distress, Rotary Beirut Cosmopolitan announces the passing of a very dear friend, PP Mounir Jabr, a longstanding member and Past President of our club, an exceptional human being, and a distinguished philanthropist who devoted himself wholeheartedly to serving and uplifting our community through his work with numerous humanitarian organizations.

His unexpected passing has come as a profound shock to his family and friends, and to the entire Rotary family, whose lives he touched through his generosity, leadership, and unwavering commitment to service above self.

Our heartfelt condolences and prayers go to his wife, Rimane, his sons, Samer and Nazih, and to the entire Jabr family during this time of immense loss and sorrow.

May his soul rest in eternal peace. He will always be remembered with gratitude and affection as a kind and compassionate gentleman, a distinguished leader and Rotarian, and a philanthropist whose legacy of service and humanity will continue to inspire all who had the privilege of knowing him.
