Over two joyful days, Compassion Protestant Society partnered with Mieh w Mieh Evangelical Presbyterian Church to create a welcoming space where children could play, parents could connect, and displaced children staying in a nearby school shelter could share in moments of joy, friendship, and hope.

This gathering was a beautiful reminder that the Church is called to be present—bringing people from different backgrounds together, building relationships, and reflecting Christ's love through compassion and hospitality.

We are deeply grateful to our generous partners and donors whose faithful support made this initiative possible. Thank you for standing with us as we continue to serve communities with hope and dignity.

With the dedicated efforts of the National Evangelical Presbyterian Church in Saida – Mieh w Mieh, and in partnership with Compassion Protestant Society, we were able to organize a two-day festival for the children of Mieh w Mieh and for displaced children staying at the Mieh w Mieh public school.

Beyond creating a space of joy, safety, and love, this event was also an opportunity to strengthen social cohesion by bringing children and families from the local and displaced communities together in a spirit of welcome, friendship, and shared hope.

We are deeply grateful to every volunteer who served, gave their time, and worked tirelessly to make this event possible. Thank you as well to everyone who donated and prayed for this festival. Your generosity, support, and prayers helped bring smiles, encouragement, and a stronger sense of community to many children.

Every child deserves moments of joy, hope, and the freedom to simply be a child.

Many of the displaced children currently residing at the Melkite Greek Catholic Patriarchal Residence have been forced to leave their homes in South Lebanon, spend time away from friends and family, and face significant disruptions to their daily lives and education.

In collaboration with HOPE worldwide - Lebanon and the Melkite Greek Catholic Patriarchate, Compassion Protestant Society organized a special festival day filled with games, activities, laughter, and fun. For a few hours, the children were able to set aside the challenges around them and enjoy a safe space where smiles and friendship took center stage.

We are grateful to all who helped make this joyful day possible and continue to stand alongside displaced families with hope, compassion, and care.

As Compassion Protestant Society, we were grateful to organize a special celebration day for Eid al-Adha with the 40 displaced families from South Lebanon — around 140 individuals — residing in the Damour shelter.

Through this initiative, families were provided with the ingredients needed to prepare and cook meals for their loved ones. We then shared the meals together — CPS staff and displaced families — in a beautiful atmosphere of unity, dignity, and fellowship during this meaningful occasion. In addition, stationery items were distributed to all the children to bring encouragement and joy to them.

We extend our sincere gratitude to the Municipality of Damour, the Ministry of Social Affairs, and all our partners who continue to support the humanitarian response in Lebanon. Your support makes a real difference in the lives of displaced families.

Today at the Compassion Community Center – Minyara, we’re grateful to share glimpses of two beautiful programs that brought hope and joy.

☀️🌿 Morning with Syrian refugee children:
We spent a day in nature—harvesting fruits, learning about them, cooking fresh salads, sharing a meal, and even creating art paintings from flowers. A celebration of learning, creativity, and togetherness.

✨ Afternoon with displaced Lebanese children:
We launched a new program with psychosocial sessions and activities, ending with a joyful birthday celebration for one of the children.

Compassion Protestant Society, together with the faithful members of the National Evangelical Church of Tripoli, offered a warm meal to around 100 displaced persons from South Lebanon.

More than a meal distribution, this initiative reflects our desire to foster solidarity, dignity, and human connection during this difficult season for Lebanon. In coordination with the Ministry of Social Affairs, we are exploring ways to expand this initiative into a community gathering where congregation members and displaced families can share meals around one table.

As churches and communities cross over barriers, we hope to create spaces where displaced families and host communities can meet as neighbours sharing life together.

We extend our heartfelt thanks to all partners and supporters who continue to stand with Lebanon in prayer, compassion, and action.

Compassion Protestant Society recently carried out an intervention at the Lebanese University Shelter of Dibbiyeh, where two of our facilitators are leading psychosocial support sessions tailored to two age groups: under 18 and above 20. In addition, hygiene kits were distributed to 18 families to help meet essential needs.

We extend our sincere thanks to Tearfund for being part of this program and for their valuable support in making this intervention possible.

We remain committed to expanding our reach to serve more shelters and displaced families, bringing care, dignity, and support to those who need it most.
