The Partnership Center for Development and Democracy (PCDD) is an independent, non-profit, civil society organization founded in March 2007 and based in Beirut. PCDD works to make the political process more inclusive and representative of marginalized groups, especially youth and women, in order to increase their participation in their communities. We build strong partnerships with local grassroot

s organizations and strive to help them change their social and political environment for the better.

إن مركز الشراكة للتنمية والديمقراطية (PCDD) هو منظمة غير ربحية ومستقلة، تأسس في شهر مارس/آذار عام 2007 ويقع مقره في بيروت، لبنان. يعمل هذا المركز على بناء المجتمع المدني من خلال تحويل العملية السياسية إلى عملية أكثر شمولًا وتمثيلًا للفئات المهمشة. ويتمحور تركيزنا حول الشباب والنساء بهدف زيادة مشاركتهم في عمليات صنع القرار في مجتمعاتهم. كما نقوم ببناء شراكات قوية مع منظمات المجتمع المحلي، ونسعى إلى مساعدتها على تغيير بيئتها الاجتماعية والسياسية نحو الأفضل.

نظّم مركز الشراكة للتنمية والديمقراطية في صيدا – ٧ تشرين الثاني ٢٠٢٥، بالشراكة مع مؤسسة عامل الدولية، وجمعية أبناء صيدا البلد، وجمعية ديارنا، وبدعم من جمعية أبعاد، حلقة نقاش تفاعلية في ثانوية الكيان بمدينة صيدا، بإدارة الصحافي وفيق الهواري، وبمشاركة مجموعة من الشابات والشبان من ثانوية الكيان الدولية.
جاء النشاط تحت عنوان "لعبة عالماشي"، وهو أسلوب مبتكر يعتمد على اختيار المشاركين لأرقام تشير إلى أسئلة محددة تتناول مفاهيم فكرية واجتماعية شائكة، مثل المواطنة، والمساواة، والرجولة. وقد أتاح هذا الأسلوب للمشاركين فرصة التعبير عن آرائهم والانخراط في نقاشات بنّاءة مع الميسّر، مما عزّز التفكير النقدي وساهم في تبادل وجهات النظر، بهدف كسر الصورة النمطية وإلغاء الأحكام المسبقة التي تعيق بناء مجتمع متماسك ومنفتح.
لاقى النشاط ترحيباً واسعاً وتفاعلاً إيجابياً من قبل المشاركين، الذين عبّروا عن اهتمامهم بالقضايا المطروحة وأهمية مناقشتها في إطار حواري يعزز قيم الانفتاح والتفاهم.
يأتي هذا النشاط ضمن سلسلة مبادرات تهدف إلى تمكين الشباب وتعزيز دورهم في بناء مجتمع أكثر عدالة ومساواة، من خلال الحوار والتفاعل المباشر مع قضاياهم اليومية.

*PCDD Statement on UN Resolution 1325*

On October 31, 2000, the UN Security Council adopted Resolution 1325—a historic step that recognized the impact of conflict on women and affirmed their vital role in peacebuilding and post-conflict recovery. 25 years later, PCDD reaffirms that this resolution is more than a milestone—it's a call to action.

In the face of war, inequality, and shrinking civic space, we are committed to redefining peace not as the absence of violence, but as the presence of justice, care, and equality.

We call on both the international community and Lebanese stakeholders to:
✅ Invest in inclusive policies
✅ Center feminist leadership
✅ Reclaim the Women, Peace & Security agenda as a political imperative.
Let Resolution 1325 remain a lasting force that continues to inspire real, transformative change.

بيان حول قرار مجلس الأمن الدولي رقم 1325
في 31 أكتوبر 2000، اعتمد مجلس الأمن التابع للأمم المتحدة القرار 1325—وهو خطوة تاريخية اعترفت بتأثير النزاعات المسلحة على النساء وأكدت على دورهن الحيوي في بناء السلام والتعافي بعد النزاع. وبعد مرور 25 عامًا، تؤكد PCDD أن هذا القرار ليس مجرد محطة دبلوماسية، بل هو نداء للعمل.
في مواجهة الحروب، وعدم المساواة، وتقلص المساحات المدنية، نلتزم بإعادة تعريف السلام ليس على أنه غياب العنف، بل حضور العدالة والرعاية والمساواة.
ندعو المجتمع الدولي والجهات اللبنانية إلى:
✅ الاستثمار في السياسات الشاملة
✅ تعزيز القيادة النسوية
✅ استعادة أجندة المرأة والسلام والأمن كأولوية سياسية
فليكن القرار 1325 مصدرًا دائمًا لإلهام التغيير الحقيقي والتحولي.

PCDD had the pleasure to attend SHIFT 2025 and listen to the powerful and inspiring experiences shared by young female journalists working in conflict regions. The lessons and insights they conveyed were not only rich and thought-provoking, but also deeply informative for all who aspire to build more inclusive and resilient narratives.

PCDD was honored to attend the launch of LADE’s final report on the 2025 Municipal and Mukhtar Elections, supported by UNDP—a compelling gender analysis of Lebanon’s electoral landscape.

Key Findings:
• Women’s voting patterns are often shaped more by familial and partisan pressures than by independent choice.
• Structural barriers—ranging from mobility constraints to limited access to electoral education—continue to undermine women’s political agency.
• Public support for female candidates is growing, yet legal and social systems persist in treating women as second-class citizens.
• The lack of a cohesive national strategy leaves many women exposed to biased or incomplete information, deepening reliance on family and party networks.

PCDD reaffirms its commitment to inclusive, rights-based elections and to empowering women as agents of change—through meaningful gender quotas, not symbolic representation.

نفتخر في مركز الشراكة للتنمية والديمقراطية بالتحالف النضالي مع التجمّع النسائي الديمقراطي اللبناني في حملة تزويج الطفلات والأطفال في لبنان، وبتاريخ طويل بالدفاع عن حقوق النساء والفتيات. سنبقى ملتزمين بعدم تفويت أي فرصة لتحقيق أهداف هذه الحملة، لأن الطفولة خط أحمر لا يحتمل المساومة.
