Ibtissama Clowns
Ibtissama clowns undergo specialized training, on a regular basis, to become “Clown Doctors”. Training is provided by Theodora Foundation certified experts, AUB School of Nursing and a psychological counseling center. Ibtissama “Clown Doctors” hold weekly visits to hospitals where they provide recreation activities to hospitalized children and their families. Hospitals
The project
has been running in Rafic Hariri University Hospital (RHUH), American University of Beirut-Medical Center (AUBMC) including the Children Cancer Center (St. Jude), Hotel Dieu de France and Makassed General Hospital. We are hoping to reach other hospitals all over Lebanon, as our resources eventually grow. Financial Resources
Ibtissama aims at involving the Lebanese and Arab communities in its venture towards alleviating the emotional burden of children’s hospitalization. The sources of Ibtissama’s funding are limited to the generous donations and in-kind support of Lebanese and Arab citizens and groups, as well as international institutions and corporations especially medical/ pharmaceutical industries. Starting January 2012, the management of the project was transferred from the very capable Ajialouna Association, who generously adopted our project, to the “Smile Foundation” (Decree no. 16/2011) which has its own dedicated personnel. How to Contribute
In order to sustain its activities and to grow, Ibtissama needs all the help of gracious persons and proactive groups. You can become part of Ibtissama’s world of happiness by:
1. Becoming an honorary member of Ibtissama, through idea exchange, promoting its activity, and encouraging donors to contribute.
2. Donating funds to support Ibtissama’s sustainability and progress.
