🔹 LIRA 18 – Track 2 | Academic–Industrial Collaboration in Action

Also on December 12, IRALEB marked another key milestone with the LIRA 18 – Track 2 Pledge Signature Ceremony, reinforcing active collaboration between universities and industrial partners.

Through Track 2, research teams are working hand in hand with industry to address real industrial challenges and co-develop practical, implementable solutions, with at least 50% of project costs covered by the industrial partners.

This ceremony officially launched the implementation phase for four awarded projects, highlighting LIRA’s role as a catalyst for applied innovation and industry-driven research.

🔹 LIRA 18 – Track 1 | Lebanese University (LU) & AUST

Congratulations to the Lebanese University (LU) and the American University of Science and Technology (AUST) on the successful signing of their LIRA 18 Track 1 grant agreements on December 12, at the Ministry of Industry.

Each awarded project receives a €10,000 EU-funded grant, combined with incubation and technical support from Berytech, supporting researchers in transforming innovation into scalable, market-ready solutions.

🔹 LIRA 18 – Track 1 | Université Saint-Joseph (USJ)

Université Saint-Joseph (USJ) marked a key milestone as its LIRA 18 Track 1 project officially signed the grant agreement between H.E. Minister of Industry Joe Issa El Khoury and Vice Rector Professor Richard Maroun in the presence of Dean Dr. Wassim Raphael.

The awarded team through the School of Engineering ESIB will benefit from a €10,000 grant funded by the European Union, along with incubation and technical support.

✨🔹 LIRA 18 – Track 1 | Grant Agreement Signature

On December 2025, IRALEB officially launched the implementation phase of LIRA 18 – Track 1 during the Grant Agreement Signature Ceremony held at the Ministry of Industry, under the auspices of H.E. Minister of Industry Joe Issa El Khoury.

Five outstanding research-driven projects were awarded a €10,000 grant each, supported by the European Union, alongside incubation and technical support delivered by Berytech. Together, these two pillars—financial support and incubation—will enable teams to transform their innovations into market-ready solutions.

👏 Congratulations to the awarded teams for successfully progressing through multiple evaluation stages and for advancing research with real economic impact.

برعاية وحضور وزير الصناعة المهندس جو عيسى الخوري،
افتتح المهندس زياد الشمّاس، عضو مجلس الأمناء ورئيس الهيئة التنفيذية لجمعية إنجازات البحوث الصناعية – لبنان (IRALEB)، الحفل السنوي للجمعية الذي أُقيم في فندق لو رويال – الضبية.

حضر الحفل رئيس جمعية الصناعيين الأستاذ سليم الزعني وأعضاء مجلس الإدارة، إلى جانب ممثلين عن بعثة الاتحاد الأوروبي في لبنان، السيد سيريل دوايلين والسيدة ليا بولوني، ومدير عام وزارة الصناعة المهندس مروان جوهر، وممثلين عن مؤسسة بيريتك السيد نيكولا فرحات ومعهد البحوث الصناعية والمجلس الوطني للبحوث العلمية، بالإضافة إلى ممثلين عن الجامعات اللبنانية من نواب رؤساء وعمداء وأساتذة وباحثين وطلاب. اضافة الى فريق عمل الجمعية واعضاء لجنة التحكيم.

تميّز الحفل بكونه جسرًا بين مرحلتين أساسيتين من برنامج "ليرا"، إذ جمع بين تكريم الفائزين الذين أنهوا كامل رحلتهم بنجاح وتحولوا إلى مشاريع لشركات ناشئة فعلية ضمن "ليرا 17"، وتقديم المشاريع المشاركة في "ليرا 18" ضمن مرحلة التسريع (Acceleration)، حيث عرضت عشرة مشاريع أفكارها المبتكرة أمام لجنة التحكيم.

استُهلّ الاحتفال بعرض "ليرا 18"، قدّمت خلالها الفرق العشرة مشاريعها التي طوّرتها خلال مرحلة التسريع المنفّذة من قبل Berytech، الشريك في مشروع Lebanon Innovate. وقد قامت لجنة التحكيم في جمعية إنجازات البحوث الصناعية – لبنان بتقييم المشاريع واختيار خمسةٍ منها للانتقال إلى مرحلة الاحتضان (Incubation)، حيث ستحصل كلٌّ منها على منحة بقيمة 10,000 يورو مقدّمة ضمن مشروع Lebanon Innovate، المموّل من الاتحاد الأوروبي

تُعنى جمعية إنجازات البحوث الصناعية – لبنان (برنامج "ليرا") بتعزيز منظومة الابتكار وريادة الأعمال في لبنان، من خلال تمكين الجامعات من تحويل أبحاثها إلى حلول تطبيقية، وتشجيع التعاون بين الأكاديميا والقطاع الصناعي، وتوفير بيئة داعمة لتأسيس الشركات الناشئة وتسويق الابتكارات محليًا ودوليًا. ويعمل البرنامج عبر مسارين رئيسيين:
1. مشاريع ابتكارية للباحثين الأكاديميين بالتعاون مع القطاع الصناعي, ممولة من الاتحاد الاوروبي
2. حلول لتحديات الصناعيين بالتعاون مع الباحثين الأكاديميين, ممولة من جمعبة IRALEB

اختُتم الحفل بجلسة تفاعلية للتعارف بين الشركاء الصناعيين والجامعيين وروّاد الأعمال، تأكيدًا على استمرار التعاون ضمن منظومة الابتكار اللبنانية، ودعمًا لرؤية لبنان نحو اقتصادٍ قائم على المعرفة والإبداع.

After months of dedication, mentorship, and acceleration, **five outstanding innovations** have been selected to move forward to the **Incubation and Funding Phase** of the **LIRA Program**, each receiving **€10,000 in funding** and a **six-month incubation support** from **Berytech**, under the **EU-funded Lebanon Innovate initiative**. 🇪🇺🇱🇧
