WSCF in the Middle East was initiated in 1962 to provide a place of meeting and dialogue for young Christians of different churches and denominations, a place where young students are able to gather, and a space for dialogue, sharing and growing together, spiritually, emotionally and intellectually. Since its inception, the World Student Christian Federation has dealt with Christian youth, so that
they may live by their Christian faith and witness to the poor and the oppressed, bearing in mind that the history of the Church is a permanent call for the Holy Spirit that guides always to announce and live the Love and Glory of God. WSCF also works for the promotion of ecumenism and inter-church cooperation and collaboration through dialogue and action. Youth, always considered as the potential future, are the primary concerned and main actors working together for their own empowerment, for the development of their leadership skills and the promotion of a transparent ecumenical life and rapprochement between churches
