With the Lebanese government so uninvested, we saw the pains of our brothers and sisters in Beirut. After 3 days of rubble removal, the real picture came in check. More than 300,000 people lost their homes, hence their kitchens. More than 300,000 people will not be able to cook and feed themselves and their families. SawaBlessed found a central kitchen at Batchig restaurant in Antelias, away from
the capital but close enough to have food delivered hot. The initiative started small with 500 persons fed per day with sandwiches and salads. Now, with tremendous help of amazing volunteers, we are cooking more than 2,500 meals per day. Boxes include hot meals with rice and proteins to help in providing sustenance to the victims. SawaBlessed delivers to all victims, with a special attention for NGOs who are working with marginalized victims such as house workers and LGBTQ+ community. Your donations will help cover these meals as long as we can cook. Our volunteers are giving all their time and effort, but the economic crisis Lebanon has been going through is making our work harder everyday. With the prices of meat, poultry, beans and grains or even bread and basic ingredients rocketing day after day. Your donation counts, no matter how small. May compassion reign!
