Zonta Club of Beirut

Zonta Club of Beirut Empowering Women Through Service and Advocacy Zonta takes its name from the Sioux Indian word meaning "honest and trustworthy".

Zonta Club of Beirut is a non-profit, politically unaffiliated, non-religious civil association which was founded in 2012 and is registered with the Lebanese Ministry of Interior (Number 1094). It was adopted to symbolize the combined qualities of honesty and trust, inspiration and the ability to work together for service and world understanding. Zonta is service organization with the mission of

advancing the status of women. Empowering women worldwide through service and advocacy. Zonta envisions a world in which women's rights are recognized as human rights and every woman is able to achieve her full potential. On International Day of United Nations Peacekeepers, we honor the courage and sacrifice of those who serve in the pursuit of peace around the world.

We also recognize the growing role of women peacekeepers, whose presence brings essential perspectives, stronger community trust, and more sustainable peacebuilding efforts.

At Zonta Club of Beirut, we stand for a world where women are not only protected by peace, but are active leaders in creating and sustaining it.

On Eid al-Adha, we celebrate the values of compassion, generosity, and solidarity that bring families and communities together.

This sacred occasion is a reminder of the importance of sharing with those in need and uplifting one another — especially women and girls, whose empowerment strengthens the heart of every community.

At Zonta Club of Beirut, we reaffirm our commitment to building a more just and caring society where every woman and girl can thrive with dignity, opportunity, and hope.

A beautiful afternoon of transition, growth, and shared purpose! ✨

At Beit Kanz, the Zonta Club of Beirut held an intimate Handover Ceremony, celebrating the official transition of leadership from our outgoing President to our incoming President. Over a lovely lunch filled with delicious food and cake, we looked back with gratitude and ahead with inspiration.

The gathering was made even more special as we officially welcomed two new members, who proudly recited the Zonta oath—reaffirming our collective commitment to empowering women and building a better world. 💛🥂

Language builds identity.

The words we hear as children don’t just pass by—they stay.

“That’s not for girls”
“Boys don’t cry”
“Help your mother”

Small phrases, repeated over time, quietly shape what children believe they can or cannot be.

If we want a more equal future, we need to start with the language we use today.

Equality doesn’t start in policy. It starts at home.

In the small, everyday moments—
who is encouraged to speak,
who is asked to help,
who is given freedom—
children learn what is “normal.”

And those lessons shape the future.

Raising children with fairness, respect, and equal opportunity is where real change begins.

Through our community service work with displaced children at قاعة عين شبلي – Choueifat, we continue to create safe, joyful, and meaningful moments through activities designed to bring comfort, creativity, and hope.

With every activity, we stand closer to the children and their families, reminding them that they are not alone.

Together, we keep serving with love, care, and solidarity.

On International Day of Families, we celebrate the vital role families play in shaping inclusive, supportive, and resilient communities.

Families are often where values of equality, respect, and opportunity begin — especially for girls. When women are empowered within the family, entire generations are uplifted.

At Zonta Club of Beirut, we believe that strengthening families means supporting women and girls, ensuring they have the voice, rights, and opportunities they deserve.

As we close this chapter, we look back with gratitude on the teamwork, dedication, and commitment that shaped this term.

Starting June 1, a new board will take office, carrying forward Zonta’s mission to empower women and create lasting impact.

Here’s to continuity, service, and new beginnings.
