Sawa for Development and Aid - سوا للتنمية والإغاثة Volunteer and community led organization working with Syrian refugees in Lebanon's Bekaa Valley

Sawa for Development and Aid is a Lebanese NGO supporting Syrian Refugees since 2011. SDAID started working with the first 40 Syrian families that arrived in Lebanon after they were forced to flee their homes in Syria, and today our projects reach tens of thousands. SDAID has developed and expanded to include 4 major programs: Relief, Education, Policy, Research and Advocacy, and Development and

Livelihoods that operate in the Bekaa Valley in Lebanon. The communities we work with are the core of our programs, which we've set up in geographical proximity to the camps. In the field, a team of field officers, outreach officers, and volunteers, from the community itself, are key to the implementation of our projects that aim to provide assistance through a holistic approach. Our work targets all the members of the family from education, protection, and skills training, to basic assistance, and shelter and infrastructure construction.

During the holy month of Ramadan, Sawa for Development and Aid supported vulnerable families through food distributions and humanitarian assistance, helping ensure access to essential needs with dignity.
As Ramadan ends, the need continues. Many families still face food insecurity and require ongoing support.

Even in the midst of hardship across our region, the spirit of giving continues.

While many families are facing difficult days in Lebanon and Syria, Ramadan reminds us that even small acts of kindness can bring hope. This Ramadan, our team at Sawa for Development and Aid is continuing our campaign in Syria, preparing and distributing food parcels to families in need so they can cook and share a warm meal during this blessed month.
Because in Ramadan, every meal, every helping hand, and every act of generosity can make a real difference in a family’s life.

For the 14th year, Sawa for Development and Aid continues its mission in Syria, with a renewed approach rooted in dignity and self-reliance.

Building on last year’s successful community kitchen initiative, this Ramadan we are supporting families directly inside their homes. By providing essential food parcels, we enable Syrian families, especially returnees facing difficult living conditions; to operate their own kitchens and prepare Iftar with dignity.

💙 $50 provides one food basket containing essential ingredients sufficient for the entire month of Ramadan.

رابعة بلّشت طريقها بالخياطة من شغف وحب للمهنة.

من أكتر من 10 سنوات ومشاريعنا للتعليم المبكر (ECE) جزء أساسي من رسالتنا في سوا. وكل سنة منكتشف إنو أجمل ما في الشغل مع الأولاد بعمر الخمس سنين، إنو هالعمر هو الأساس 💚
الأساس يلي من خلاله منبني شخصيات متوازنة، ومنزرع فيهن حب التعلم والتطور لإلن ولمجتمعنا 🌱
ومع دخول طلابنا على المدارس الرسمية، منشوف تميّزن بمهاراتن الأكاديمية والعملية.

اليوم مشروعنا عم يدعم 80 طفل/ة بعمر 5 سنوات في برالياس – البقاع.
منهتم بحاجاتن التربوية والتعليمية والنفسية، ومنأمنلن سناك صحي يومي، حصص رياضية، ودعم لأهلهن لنحافظ سوا على صحة عقلية ونفسية متوازنة للطفل والعيلة.

✨ أطفالنا بيستحقوا بداية قوية مليانة حب، علم، وأمل.

For more than 10 years, Sawa’s Early Childhood Education (ECE) program has been at the heart of our mission. Every year, we realise that the most beautiful part of working with 5-year-olds is knowing that this age is the foundation 💚
A foundation where we build balanced personalities, and instil in them a love for learning and growth—for themselves and their communities 🌱
And when they transition into public schools, our students stand out with their academic and practical skills.

Today, our project supports 80 children aged 5 in Bar Elias – Bekaa.
We nurture their educational, psychological, and physical needs by providing daily healthy snacks, sports activities, and close coordination with their caregivers to ensure mental and emotional well-being for both children and parents.

✨ Every child deserves a strong start filled with love, learning, and hope.
